Any of those who were going Goldy jumping off based on managed preseason? Or sticking fat?
I'm off for now and sticking with ryder r2. After having stef last year, don't want to start with an underachieving ruck and lose 15-20 points weekly on the top rucks. If he looks to be the in the top 2, will jump on then. (in fairness to stef he started well till injury)

What, is Goldy at it again, another sticky fat?

Gotta laugh at Sandi...he had me on board early too.
he ain't gonna make it through to the byes as hoped and I ain't gonna risk it now.
Ryder as R2 is looking good....can't decide who else to pick. Think I'm better off rolling with Ryder for now and letting my true R2 pick themself with some good games once the seasons going.
Will need to try and have some coin left!

I was originally hesitant to put Ryder in the rucks, given it means you almost have to trade out forward rookies by Round 9 to ensure a full playing ruck line in that round, but the savings you make in changing Goldy over to a Macrae knowing Goldy has had a managed preseason is worth its weight in gold.

or you can trade out a mid rookie to bring in a ruck for rd9

Grundy/Stef.

I can't bring myself to pay that much for Gawn. When has a #1 ruck ever backed it up? Cox and Goldy didn't back up there 120+ average years with similar numbers. Jacobs didn't back his up, Minson didn't, Stef last year.. Plus Gawn's knees. Unless Stef or Grundy get injured I'm almost certainly picking them two.

Currently rolling with Gawn and Hickey. Was keen on Jacobs until I saw that tweet about his tendinitis.

I do like the Ryder in the rucks idea, makes a lot of sense
In round 9 move him forward, bring in the best performing ruck

My only concern is, will Ryder actually score that well?
I'm thinking he'll average ~85 again

I toyed with this also. Just concerned about Hickeys scoring ability

Cant remember if I saw this on here or Jock Reynolds, but apparently Hickey has a good HTA percentage, and the Saints went 3rd man up quite a bit last year. Hopefully the rule change means Hickey gets more HTA and get the average up into the 90s. I'm also concerned if the Saints give Billy Longer some more games at the expense of or alongside Hickey.

Grundy was the other option as he seems to have no competition for the #1 ruck spot.

Goldstein is at least 3 weeks away from training with the main group. Is this turning anyone off him?

I wont be starting with him.
Lock Gawn in then take the risk with R2 seems to be the way to go with rucks this year.

Had Gawn and Goldy Then Gawn and Grundy. Now looking at Stef to save some $. He only averaged 89 last year but that was injury interrupted. Also don't think they'll rush young Archie Smith in if Stef plays well.
Nankervis is another I'll consider depending on him being no 1 ruck.
Also, another issue is that Gawn and Martin have the same bye. Turned me right off!
