I don't like Gawn. He's 30-40k more expensive than a Selwood or Kennedy in the mids. And I'd back Selwood or Kennedy to outscore him.

Talk about using statistics to prove the obvious. Of course Gawn averaged better last year, that's why his price is more expensive than Selwood or Kennedy. The question is will he average more than them this year.

Based on history of the players concerned and the rarity of rucks backing up an outstanding season with another outstanding season I predict he won't.

I'm on him currently. May revert to Stef Martin for $40k cheaper though.

So, if Ruffy is out for the Dogs, does Campbell or Tom Boyd become ruck?

Will be Campbell, so Boyd's role stays the same.

We are not going to play Boyd as the sole ruckman, we have no-body else in the team who can pinch hit meaning Boyd would have to ruck the whole game.

Solid performer, does well around the ground with contested ball and tackles, but he won't get enough hitouts to advantage.

I can't see him averaging over 100, 90-99 seems about right

Have been told a few different things about Ryder so not sure which to believe

Obviously was a little rusty, but most had him comfortably beating Lobbe.

Archie ruined Stef's scoring today and it looks like he was dumped up fwd for a bit of the game too. Will this become the norm all year? Not sure I'm going to trust Stef if this happens for the rest of the JLT series. It's almost a sign.

I think Martin may have had a somewhat interrupted pre season. He also only had about 50% game time. I currently have him at r2 but will see how JLT 2 and 3 plays out.

Very tempted as if he plays 22 games then along with Gawn the rucks are locked and loaded. Worries me a little though with his interrupted pre season if he can have the output needed to play high % of game time throughout the season. Will he be managed?

Probably referring to the years JPK and Selwood have consecutively averaged 110+, something that Gawn hasn't done. Even Goldstein has done that
