I watched kreuz on the weekend and as a Carlton fan. It's the first time in a long time I've seen him move the way he did, reminded me back in his 2008 2009 form. No strappings for the first time. You know what ur gonna get works hard, tackles, gives everything and a top bloke to

Where does Mumford score his points (other than with Mortal Kombat style fatalities)? --> Good / fair / poor in terms of HTA? Not across his stats at all.

Ranked second in HOA (11.57 per game). 3rd in HO average (34.74)

Will dominate with no third man up rule. Number of games played is the question.

I'm seriously considering.

Jesus Goldy, it's not ****ing rocket surgery here.
The only Preuss I want to see is this Preuss*.
I don't need you blokes holding hands and singing ring-a-ring-a-rosie, I want you to assert your dominance.
People shelling out 588k expect a certain level of performance, not delusions of tactical grandeur.
So spark up a bit, pull your ****ing head in and release the beast.

I like the look of Kreuzer and you're definately right, he looks to be in top shape/form.

On a side note, Maric should be playing in the 2's. A slow plodding stiff with terrible hand work in close. Saw him drop the ball the moment he got tackled.

Hardwick suggesting that both should play this year. Some coaches need to open their damn eyes *facepalm*

If maric is hardwicks plans to support nankervis which he doesn't need support. Things like this will get Hardwick sacked

Question for Melbourne fans. You have a legit chance at finals this year and you want Gawn at the top of his game come September how do you achieve that? If I'm Goodwin I'm looking not to wear him out during the season. Rest him forward. Get a back up ruck in for a few games as support. Bench him when they are 50 points up with 15 minutes left (as WCE do with NicNat).

Taking hints from preseason, is this a realistic (or likely) strategy for a new coach or do they continue to work him into the ground during the H & A season? For the life of me I can't see the benefit of Melbourne having Gawn on the field as much as last year during H&A.

He went alright last year by himself didn't he? Just getting some gametime into Spencer. No need to risk Max in the PS.

What are people's general thoughts on the following ruckmen:

Tom Hickey
Scott Lycett
Tom Nicholls
Tom Campbell
Jackson Trengove
Sam Naismith
Toby Nankervis

???

No-one's talking about them at all.

Very interested if fit

Interested if R1 only and Hampson

In saying that I won't be starting with any of the above

if Ruffy went down injured early I'd consider a straight swap to Nanky

Maric has nothing to do with Kreuzer or Carlton... besides, don't see Maric playing any games this year outside Nank and Hampson being injured

Think they have all come up at stages. (Edit: Have a look for some of kadog's stat insights on Hickey, Mummy and others earlier in the thread)

Hickey has garnered interest (good HTA etc.), Longer the danger there.

Lycett will attract attention now it looks like he'll be on deck. Not for me, others at or below that price with similar prospects.

Nicholls had been grazing in a fair paddock + competition for role

Campbell ankle, think, not sure he'll play early.

Trengove: Can't say.

Naismith: Sydney lots of ruck options, point cannibalization?

Nank: Think he is worthy of consideration, Hampson seems a little while off and Nankervis OK up forward, by all reports

Tom Hickey depends on who gets the ruck role
Scott Lycett injured and will be eased back
Tom Nicholls at a x roads in his career
Tom Campbell No
Jackson Trengove No
Sam Naismith No
Toby Nankervis OK price, on JLT watch

Jacko scored 94 playing 3rd fiddle to Ryder and Lobbe, also played forward
i wouldnt rule him out entirely

I invested in JT last season.
Copped no end of flack for it.

He was constantly at 50 at halftime then 80 at end.

new role will help him,

he didnt have the tank to play full time ruck. playing 2nd KPF and 2nd ruck will help him.

reckon he can average 85-95 this year
