At this time of development he is to reaction slow for the middle.

He is not a poor msns Bont but a destitute or homeless junkie mans Bont at the moment.
One day probs next season he will get runs through tbe middle.

Had undoubted talent but is still a space cadet and dreamer. Will work it out but he will take time.

Reckon one day he will be our version of Bont.

i hope he isnt our version of the bont, bottomsmelly is a crab and wil l most likely be delisted in two years time

You think Richo doesn't understand this?

What his job entails is winning football matches, and playing footballers in the seniors in the positions he sees as achieving that.

That is the basic tenant of any AFL coach. its why Roo, possibly our greatest ever player, has played out of position for 15 years. Its why Clarko played Hodge as a HBF and not as a midfielder.

Sinclair will get his chance. He still has a pre season or two to go before he has that hard inside mid body to go up against the Swans, Geelong and Adelaide type midfields.

its why we have the likes of Ross, Stevens, and Dunstan in the inside mid role. Steele is still young but his defence in close is phenomonal and will be a monster in a year or two.

You people have to ge tover your obsessions. Sinclair and Acres and others will get a go in the mids, but not at the expense of the overall success of the team. Sinclair is not quite big enough, Acres not aware enough.

All I might stress AT THE MOMENT. Reckon they will be monsters when we are challenging 2018 onwards.

I reckon we are getting ahead of ourselves in 2017. Reckon it is more than a development year but less than a challenging year.

When we challenge we will have some hard bodied campaigners with Stevens, Steele, Ross, Acres, Sinclair, even Billings and meatball MkII in Gresh smashing the inside with Kelly, and Freezer smashing the outside running job.

Get excited more than frustrated fella's (and gals)

Holmes with 57 taps? Whats the go with this guys? If Longer doesnt get up is he a chance?
And White with 17 kicks off hb and 10 rebound 50s. Is he getting close?

Yes hes is. Hes better than mckenzie not sure why dmac gets a game before. Prob the same reason im a bf tragic.

While this is true and we all of course hope he improves immesurably in this department, what is also true is that some just naturally have it and some don't and it looks very much that Dan doesn't and is more of an "athlete", who happens to be playing footy.

Sincs for instance showed more in this regard within 5 games in his first year on an AFL list than Dan is showing now after 20 AFL games, a heap of VFL games and in his 3rd year on an AFL list, so there's no guarantee it ever improves as much as it needs to.

The question is, how much longer do we keep persisting with Dan over Rice and White, when one of them is needed in the seniors?

The big advantage Dan has over them is that he's been on the list a year longer and has far greater endurance, but once the other two's endurance gets closer to the required level, they may go past him at a rate of knots, if Dan doesn't improve in a fair hurry.

That's if there's a spot for any of them in the senior team!

Looks like he could develop into a hard as nails take no prisoners small defender.

Yeah i think that's his best chance, only problem being that there's really only one spot up for grabs there and Gears has it wrapped up for the forseeable future.

Reckon Rice is the next in line for the long term, as he is also hard as nails, good overhead and quick and strong, but much more natural when it comes to footy and an infinitely better kick than Dan.

Are you serious look at durey from hawthorn what ever the * his name is. Played back his whole life now is an high impact defensive forward. Its thinking like that that will get us no where. Evolution.

They sent him back and he is probably only behind the very elite few key defenders this year. He looks like chalk and cheese from the below average tall forward he was.
