Did anyone watch Lateline tonight?

Was a kid on it who made teddy bears to raise funds for cancer sufferers.

At the end of the interview, he was wearing a saints cap.

Any chance of the club getting in contact with the kid?

Hi George you want to look at this?

Ross early on reminded me of a mix of Kennedy and Mitchell. But he's starting to look more like a mix of pendlebury and Mitchell

Sinclair is the closest thing I've ever seen to Sam Mitchell

That's a pretty good mix

Steele to me looks like a cripps/mundy/fyfe (his inside game)/kennedy. He just has those long arms that can affect or get the ball at distance. Absolute brute

Gresham is an aker. It's uncanny how a like he is

Billings I'm unsure on. Not sure who he reminds me of. Probably bartel
After reading that StCicatriz.....I'm getting pretty excited about the next 5-6 years.

Josh Battle is set to sign a contract extension with the Saints

Related
FIRST-YEAR forward Josh Battle is set to be rewarded for an encouraging start to his career at St Kilda with a one-year contract extension.

AFL.com.au understands the deal will be completed when his manager Adam Ramanauskas returns from overseas later this month.

The 18-year-old signed a standard two-year deal after being selected by the Saints with pick No.39 in last year’s NAB AFL Draft.

A knee injury stymied his progress earlier in the season and forced him to miss three weeks, but the suspension of fellow forward Tim Membrey could open the door for the Dandenong Stingrays product to debut in a baptism of fire against Essendon on Friday night.

Standing at 193cm, Battle possesses elite endurance, a strong pair of hands and is a usually a reliable shot for goal, attributes he has displayed in eight VFL games this year.

He is currently completing year 12 at Haileybury College, and is mentored in the school’s football program by Essendon great Matthew Lloyd.

In a decorated draft year, the AFL Academy graduate earned All Australian honours and was named in the TAC Cup team of the year.

Battle will join Ben Long and Bailey Rice as youngsters to recommit with the Saints this season.

Jon Ralphy has written an article about Freezer and the ever-increasing possibility of a debut for the Saints... it's a premium one though. Can anyone with access share? I assume there's nothing "new" in it from our perspective but the wider footy community are starting to take notice!

It's been posted on the 'Nathan Freeman updates' thread.

Fresh article on AFL website with Paddy to be rested "indefinitely"... :(
As i said back in mid-May, the club expects up to 8 weeks break for Paddy for another concussion. Now that looks like coming to fruition.

Maybe Brian and others will stop bagging me out now!

"It's something that's left to specialists and that's 100 per cent right with me because 10, 20 years down the track, I'll need my brain," McCartin said.

Doesn't need it for a while yet then.

Makes Marshall an important part of the list IMO.

Increases my desire for a swingman like himmelberg as well. Him and Kelly for two 1sts would be a fantastic result.
Looking at in a (god-forbid) hypothetical world where Paddy has been forced into an early retirement, and where Nick Riewoldt is not counted due to impending retirement,on our list as it currently stands we still have:

Bruce - 25, 197cm 102kg
Membrey - 23, 188cm 88kg
Battle - 18, 193cm 89kg

As well as legitimate swingmen in:

Carlisle - 25, 201cm 102kg
Goddard - 20, 196cm 98kg
Marshall - 21, 201cm 98kg

Even taking out the two listed above, we could line up in a myriad of ways, such as:

HF: Bruce
FF: Battle - Membrey

HF: Marshall
FF: Bruce - Membrey

HF: Carlisle
FF: Goddard - Battle

I'd be more inclined to look for a tall defender at this stage.
