Current Membership Tally (30/01/2017):
32,701

This Time Last Year (01/02/2016):
28,003

Difference:
+4,698

Projected Final Total:
42,707

All-Time Tally;
1. 39,276 (2011)
2. 39,021 (2010)
3. 38,009 (2016)
4. 35,440 (2012)
5. 32,746 (2015)
6. 32,707 (2013)
7. 32,701 (2017)
8. 32,327 (2006)
9. 32,043 (2005)
10. 31,906 (2009)

I think we need to be a bit more realistic on our expectations. Just because we're 4,698 up on where we were at this time last year doesn't mean we'll be [2016 total] + 4,698.
That doesn't take into account people signing up earlier than last year. Especially because we had a campaign in December where you could pay $1 and lock in your membership for 2017, paying the rest later.

That quickly pushed us to 31 by 31, but didn't necessarily increase our new membership.

We would need to know more stats.

[2016 total] x avg renewal % + [new members to date + extrapolated data].

TLDR
42k is optimistic and skewed by 31by31 campaign. Hopefully we get over 40k.

True. An important stat would be how many have signed up from the lapsed members from 2011, the 10,000 who left a couple of years later. Oddly it would be good if there a few still yet to resign. That would give greater room for movement this year.

What's the reason for quoting something from back at the start of the year? If you check the OP you'll notice the difference between this year and last has reduced...it'll all work itself out regardless of if we signed members earlier or later...it's always changing.

And the premiers are still in the 20s? LOL
They'll accelerate late as they usually do. Not sure what the reasoning is but they're always late to the membership party.
I haven't included them in our block as being reigning premiers they'll rise well above our group I'd expect. I probably should though. You've just convinced me. Or have I convinced myself?.. Either way I'll edit :D

Edit: had a search on the Dogs site for a current tally. Found bugger all info.

that would be a ripping result. the difference has taken a bit of a hit recently. hopefully the membership campaign starts to ramp up a bit

Was just looking at the numbers today. Definitely taken a big hit, we were ~4500 up at one point. Intraclub should get the difference back up to over 4,000 I'd hope. I wanted 45,000 at the start of the campaign but probably not going to get there unless we go undefeated through the first four rounds. 43,000 would be a terrific result, then hopefully a solid finals campaign this year will net us the coveted 50,000 in 2018 (THE year).
