Beams & Roughy, which I am banking on being keepers

Midprice madness but think I have picked sub premos (Beams, Sandilands, Roughie) or blokes who have a genuine chance of increasing their score due to increased opportunity (Tuohy, Higgins, Nankervis).

I would say at least 4 of these midpriced players need to be successful for my team to be successful.

Fingers crossed!

It would usually be a horrible mistake (& still might be), but I'm really tempted to roll the dice and go with a 1-4-3 (or even 1-5-2) approach up forward.

The likes of Greene, Miller, Higgins, Roughy, Nankervis & Steele are all very tempting and could arguably match the averages of most of the fwd premiums!

Of course, it doesn't help when the fwd rookies are a miserable bunch.

I've gone mad with mid pricers but with little certainty regarding rookies i think this is the year to do it. Of my 13 rookies 4 are 160k+ so i hope those rookies that i paid a premium for repay me with either higher scores or better job security! My midfield is stacked with 6 550k+ premiums plus Beams and O'Meara so I'm hoping my mids can keep me afloat if some of my mid pricers in other areas fail! I've got several PODs that I am keeping to myself as well. I don't think my structure will change before round 1 but of course my rookie selections will depend on round 1 teams. At least at this stage I'm very happy with my team which has not always been the case over the years! It is a bit different to most I've seen on here but I'm somewhat confident I'll do OK (probably not 'well':p)

Not surprised this thread is 4 pages small.

NFI on my final structure untill Saturday arvo round 1 when teams and rookies are finalised for Sundays games.

Crows and North play Sunday and half of all the decent rookies play for them.

Looking at the North team doubt EVW or Hibberd will play Rd1.
I think EVW will, has held down a kpd post for the whole pre-season, I don't see who comes in for him, is a replacement for Firrito. Hibberd is maybe more of a concern.

Mid pricers as follows:

O'Meara - stepping stone to premo
Beams - hopefully ends up a keeper

Sandilands - hopefully ends up a keeper

Roughy - hopefully ends up a keeper
Steele - stepping stone to premo

If one of Beams/Sandi/Roughy end up a keeper for their position, I'll take it.

More so a medium sized defensive post (I.e. Large resting mids and medium half sized forwards), which Thompson is more suited to. The back six come round 1/Or back seven as we usually play with:

Williams - Tarrant - Thompson
Wright - Durdin - McDonald - Macmillan (as the seventh defender/wingman.)

Hibberd can play wing, so he could slip into the bench.
