Why on earth would Rockliffs inclusion stunt the development of SPP, who will be playing alongside Rockliff in the AFL? Atley is debatable, as he's not even genuinely pushing for inclusion at the moment.

Rockliff averages around 26 possessions a game, half of them contested. He also lays a whopping average of over 9 tackles a game with over 6 clearances a game to top it off.

Spud/Undamaging/Delist.

Carn, he's one of the premier clearance mids in the game.
I'm not saying he's a spud, and he does get a lot of touches & clearances, but he doesn't really hurt the opposition. Zorko & Beams do twice the damage Rockliff does. You've inflated his worth a bit: averages 10 contested possessions & <6 tackles (still good numbers).

Hey, I hope he's great for us, just not confident he will be.

What about Boak? If he's going to get any less midfield time we may as well see if we can get a straight swap for Motlop.

"If they're 0-11 and getting smashed then we'll wait and see.” Tom Lynch’s manager on the Sun re-committing: http://afl.to/2g9Fkok

Could you imagine if the Suns stink it up again next year, Tom Lynch wants out and chooses to reunite with Dicko and Ken? I think I would cry :drunk::drunk:

Jake Lever's manager is now the list manager at Collingwood.
No conflict of interest, since it's in everyone's interest to screw the Adelaide Crows, particularly if the story of their Lever dealings so far are true ;)

We're also got Doughty flipping on its head the widely believed story of how the trade approach to Lobbe was halted two years back. Jumping to believe player manager X but not player manager Y because it suits us in one case in our thirst for Schadenfreude, or because it fits a personal narrative about individual Z in the other is ... Crows forum level hypocrisy.

Strangely late time in the day for Ned to be taking up that role though.

Bickley - "Its not like Port don't lose players too. They're about to lose Jackson Trengove..."

Yeah Bicks, difference is he wanted to take a pay cut so he could stay. Keep clutching at those straws.
I remember years ago when a numpty was arguing that Port and Crows had similar rates of players wanting out. Two players listed for Port in those examples were Chad Cornes and Dean Brogan going to GWS.

Rates Impey as 64.84 and Sloane as 62.67. Can't be bothered reading how it's valued but I'm willing to say it's wildly inaccurate.
At no point did I say it was accurate, it was more, yeah I will take pick 15 and run thanks.

I have had a quick look at it, I think they have come up with a model that is a great starting point. It obviously needs some fine tuning. The obvious one is that older players are under valued.

Apples and oranges. Jacko has an enormous time ahead of him, so you can understand why he wants to be closer to family. Can't say the same about the revolving door at West Lakes.

LOL, he's kidding, right? We made the call on Trengove. If the club wanted him to stay he would've signed at reduced terms. Not even close to being comparable to the players leaving West Lakes in their droves.

I for one am not over the moon getting Rockliff. He's a fantasy pig, but doesn't do much damage with his touches. His inclusion delays the development of SPP & Atley, and what do we do with Boak? A half-forward he isn't, and with Rockliff, Trav will see less midfield time.
This post stinks of someone who watches no other game than his own teams, week in week out.

Well, more competition for Boak! Thats a good thing.

I know we are talking 2017, but someone mentioned 2 picks this year swapped for a first rounder next year.

Getting a KPF like Jack Lukosius in 2018 would be nice but at this stage he is top 5 and that would be bloody hard to get. But I found this article intially on trade radio interesting and might be more realistic as Tom Lynch will be a RFA next year and sounds like he wants to go to club where he will success. He would be a lot easier to get than a pick in the top 5.

GOLD COAST'S performances during the first half of 2018 could be the difference between Tom Lynch re-committing, or being the latest big name to walk out on the club. Suns co-captain Lynch is out of contract at the end of next season and will have opposition sides lining up to lure him away from Queensland while he remains undecided on his future. There has even been some speculation the 24-year-old could be prised from Gold Coast, who are still without a senior coach, during this year's NAB AFL Trade Period.
.....
Speaking on NAB AFL Trade Radio on Wednesday, Lynch’s manager Robbie D’Orazio guaranteed the Suns skipper would be at the club for 2018, but said his player would take time to make sure Gold Coast had some prospect of success before signing a new deal. "Tom is a competitive beast and wants to win games of football, and obviously win premierships," he said. "He'll step back and take a look at the new coach, the assistants, and also look at what sort of player they go for in the draft, and they have pick two this year. "Without putting a time frame on it, I'm sure by midway through next year, if they're 0-11 but they're competing, that might be OK.

I am not sure that I agree on Trengove. One 12 month old, and twins on the way? Can't fault the bloke if he told the club a few months ago he needed to move closer to family.

The Motlop one is a bit interesting. We're no doubt helping Geelong play ducks and drakes with GC.

That said, the rumour is Motlop is coming to Adelaide later this week to talk to the Adelaide clubs. We'll see what happens then.

We've got Rocky, tbh i'd feel greedy if we got Motlop.

Nah I wouldn't.
