Jarman super salty on Triple M. Reckons Rockliff is not the player we need. "Motlop is the one they actually need." He snapped.

I've got bad news for you, Jars.
Rockliff is top priority. Anyone that does even a basic review of our list and performances would see it.

The only player I can recall leaving that really hurt was Burgoyne.
Josh Carr hurt during 2005-07 years, but he left to play with his bro, and when Matthew retired he came back, unfortunately well passed his prime.

I mean Jack Reiwoldt would fill more of a “need” for us than Dustin Martin, but you would still be taking Martin every single time.

Can suck it!
If we lose Impey it better be for a decent player. A late 2nd round in a year where the talent falls off the shelf in the teens does absolutely nothing for us. I'm firmly on the keep side of the argument.
I think the depth in this draft is solid. It's the top 20 that are questionable and even then I suspect we will look back in 10 years at 2016 being exceptionally strong rather than 2017 being overly different to the norm.

This is exactly the problem. He's trying to prove he's worth the pay packet.

Lobbe busted his butt with second efforts in 2014. That was his go - he was never going to be a great ruck, but he was like a better version of Trengove. And if he had played like that in 2015, no one would have had any issue. I love his hustle in 2014 and thought that with Ryder giving him a chop out he wouldn't be so gassed at the end of games.

That version of Matthew Lobbe, I had a lot of time for. But that version wasn't worth the contract he is on now.

Instead, he keeps trying to prove that he's actually some sort of first class ruck ala Sam Jacobs when he's a grinder. And that's what pisses me off about him. Not deceitful, but completely delusional as to his limitations as a player. Remember, when his agent put the contract in front of him, he would have seen the dollar amount and knew he wasn't worth that. But he still signed it anyway. And if he actually thought he was worth that amount, that's even worse.

Talking about delusional....

I thought Port were good at the clearances but lacked clean disposal inside 50 and couldn't convert when it counted. If Watts and Motlop sign on, happy days. This and the anticipated cleanout look like a re-boot. I may prove to be a hypocrite and renew my memberships after all - the daughters have offered to pay for theirs (about time they've been working for years) so it's not going to hurt the pocket as much!

Pity we don't have a super duper foot expert/surgeon to guarantee to fix up ex Melbourne player Jack Trengove. Bloody hell he was great player before his foot/navicular bone injury. Listening to him on 5AA he is right, that he wont get picked up as DFA until after the draft, and it might only be as a rookie. One Trengove out and other in, but on the rookie list might be worth a punt.
Agreed. As a rookie it's not going to hurt one bit. Such a shame that he got injured because he was a gun in the making. Melbourne really ****** him up giving him the captaincy way too early in the piece.
