I can tell you right now that O'Brien won't be leaving Hawthorn. We're thin enough on KPPs as it is. Pick 32 is about right imo.
Under contract and we hear 500ks on the table for him from the Hawks. Hawks rate him obviously. Imp can stay here another year and we still get 32 next year.

Deal. No need for either club to play hardball.
I would say pick 42 but he is contracted and therefore goes for a bit extra

32 is fair. Port don't need Impey, Hawks don't need him. He is contracted but Port won't make a fuss over that.

Edit: Hawks might pay some of his Port salary as part of the deal. Port may need cap space for Rocky & Motlop

Not sure to be honest, but talk of a first rounder on your board is wishful thinking in the extreme. Compare Hill and Mitchell and what they fetched in a trade last year and what they had shown up to that point. Then compare that to Impey. At a guess he is worth anywhere between 25-40 but I would guess Port would consider themselves in their window so may push for a player instead
I don't think anyone here is pushing for a first, if they are I haven't seen it. You'll find the realistic people here realise that Hawthorn has nothing of value pick wise this year, so anything for Impey would have to come in the form of a player, or next years draft.

Hawthorn is trying to induce a contracted player to break his contract and move clubs.

Both Hinkley and Davies are on record saying that he's a required player and that it would have to be something that was going to strengthen our list to move him.

Pick 32 is not strengthening our list in a shallow as **** draft.

And as for the Hawks not needing him - ******* spare me. If they don't need him, why bother talking to him?

I know it was coming but it somewhat hits me.

Gifted AFL games in the past 2 years, pathetic season as per B&F results, absolutely disgraceful attitude in the finals.

Wants to go home, that's fine and all but the icing on the cake for me is that he nominates a club to go to as a contracted player. **** that shit man.
Yep.

What grates me is the preferential treatment he received right up to his selection for the last final, while other players who have shown a lot of class in their time at Port, have been treated with less selection leniency.

For 2017, AhChee is the obvious one.

Hawks don't need Impey, yet have reportedly seen fit to offer him $500K per season. They obviously rate him, so they either pay full price or we start talking to other Victorian clubs. I hear that Impey's best mate has moved to the Bulldogs - perhaps they'll be able to come up with a satisfactory trade. I'm sure Impey won't argue.

I highly doubt pick 32 in a shit draft gets it don't for a contracted player that the coach loves.

If that’s what it takes to get him to move to SA, so be it.

Brisbane get their pick 2, we get Rockliff, both clubs and player win.
Especially if we have an in principle agreement for an extra year extemsion later at a 100k discount

So Hawks dont need Impey? Better register as a charity then.

The Watts decision appears to be off a bit. Will be meeting with Sydney early next week, and Melbourne want to work him in the Lever trade. If we get O'Brien for Impey, we can forget about Watts. Motlop ..... if he takes the Cow?s 750,000 dollar a year offer, then we trade with Brisbane for ROckcliffe and take the compensation pick. Get Watts, forget about O'Brien.
I've heard of some ridiculous figures from the cows for Motlop but not $750K. And Brisbane won't trade, they have already said they will sooner have a high compo pick which would mean us losing ours.

At the Magpies final the day after the Elimination loss I had one burning thought in my mind-- get rid of that half-wit Impey.

Glad to see the club has found a way to dish him off. There is a history of Port being ruthless with players who have shockers in finals and with Impey I think it was the final straw.
Maybe what Kochie was talking about

We have craved movement on the trade table, both ingoing and outgoing, especially as we are a bit lacking in higher draft picks.
Last year it didn't happen.
This year it will.
All good.
Impey is talented and promising and fast but there's no point in him staying here if his head and heart are elsewhere.
He won't have the maturity to deal with that.
Hopefully Hawks (or whoever) can give him the level of support and patience our club has.
Explains his sooking in the finals.
However, Ken and CD said they won't agree to any moves that don't benefit both us and Impey, so we need a fair deal.
I trust CD and Cripps.
We need dedicated footballers, not one's that are not sure if they want to be here or can't go on playing without their mate. If Impey want's out let him go, as long as we are compensated.

LOL where the hell did you hear that?

I'm sorry but there is just no way that is true.
BF that's good enough. Your 2nd pick next year could be 20 could be 30. Now help us with a little depth and we can make it fairly easy on everyone. You don't have a pick this year that works and come Friday Imp is at the Dogs or still at Port. Next year's 2nd reasonable and easy. You are not trading in a player you believe is only worth your pick this year and you don't seriously expect us to accept it. It's a really simple easy trade and it should be done in principle by Tuesday.

Let's face it, it's a good thing that Port BF posters are not negotiating with Hawthorn on the Impey trade. Many of us are so over him, that we just want him out of Alberton. Fortunately, he is Ken's little favourite, so the club will push hard to get good return for him.

Pick 32 on its own will not cut it.
