OK so I think Watts has said, according to Cleary, that he's happy with either Ports or Geelong so is leaving it up to his manager to work out the best deal and is going overseas?
Then we had best move on Motlop now.
Ide suggest it will be us if that is true.

I got a feeling his manager want's him with us as he feels that he could fulfill his potential the most.

I'm watching my recording of 'AFL Tonight' on Foxtel as they talk about today's state of play with trades. The talk is complex. There is video of players playing as the commentators (Anthony Hudson, Jake Niall, Nick Del Santo) talk. There is an information ribbon moving along the bottom of the screen. I am overwhelmed with information. 4th rounders from 2017 being packed with future second rounders to move player X to club Y based on the original club paying 30% of their back-loaded salary. OK I've made that artificially complex but you can't watch this show and chew gum at the same time.

So who would you drop to fit in Arch and keep our structure intact? As a mid, he's behind Ollie, Ebert, Rockliff and SPP. As a HFF he's behind the Grays and Boak. He's not a forward pocket player nor is he a winger.

He just can't get a game because there isn't a spot for him in our side and we can't give him the opportunity without dropping someone who wouldn't deserve omitting.
Post needs a Wingard too, sadly for Arch.

Maybe unpopular opinion here but Ah Chee's handballis massively overrated here. I'd much rather him hit a target by foot over 30 metres than by hand. On top of that he's used it maybe 3 or 4 times in 20 something games.

I'm not saying he doesn't have upside, because I think he could be a good contributor at AFL level, but he has his deficiencies and having a 30 metre handball really does nothing to counteract them.

I saw Arch take hangers and kick goals under massive pressure in a grand final but as always you know more than me J.Anus
I dont know why this made me laugh so much but it did...Trade week delivers.

We all said that about Sam Gray till he was played in the right position.
The point of most of the posts on him here is that there's no room for Arch in his preferred spot or even in his less preferred HFF. On that level comparison with Ben Newton is fair - not a spud but simply stuck behind Kane, Dom, Travis and others, and could not adapt well enough to other roles.

Sam Gray was originally played forward and had average form. Ken admitted he was a midfielder when Sam played really well in the middle, late 2015. This year he's been played forward again but actually grown into the role quite well. Sam Gray stepped up when he needed to.

Is it just me or are we shedding a lot of players at the moment?

So far we've lost Krakouer, Monfries, Trengove and Impey with Young, Lobbe and Ah Chee heavily rumoured to be following them out the door. That is before any delistings.

In return we've got Rockliff and the possibility of Watts and/or Motlop.

And we've got no first round picks in what is supposedly a shallow draft. I hope Costanza knows what's he's doing here.

We wont be shedding many more than these names.

Add in Rockliff, at least one of those other targets plus Houston being upgraded and its 4 picks.

It means we won't have to delist anyone, and I'm sure we can pick up a few more than Watts and Motts if we so choose. I say relax. CD is doing just fine.
