There have been some pretty big delistings this offseason - Menzal, Ellis, Mullet and a few others.. are there any players we might look at in the preseason draft to fill a need? surely having Menzal on the list for 2 years couldn't hurt? he may mature in that time and lift what ever standards are required to get him where he needs to go. He was all the rage 2 years ago.

Rational article by Gleeson in today's Age.....Dogs apparently not interested, in fact nobody except Hawthorn has any interest in him,and they have nothing to offer.It may be he is very poorly advised, as Gleeson sums up saying, his best option is to make himself a player at Brisbane! I recall how Noble and Fagan detailed how the welfare department had been extended and was now as good as any and better resourced than most.They evidenced their work with an unnamed player,obviously now known to be Scache, and the lengths they were going to ,to accommodate his increasing needs.And to think kids went to war at 17. The AFL need to examine and reform this area.It affects all non Melbourne clubs.

Hearing that Brisbane basically told other clubs yesterday that we are looking to maximise our number of top 10 picks this year and invited clubs to present scenarios that would make it happen. Pick 1 very much up for grabs in these scenarios.

Yeah that's pretty much the only play that makes sense. Or a swap with the Dogs for 9+11*, currently owned by Essendon but potentially in play for Stringer.

*I'm well aware that 11 isn't a top 10 pick

As of now- I can't see much that would be of benefit to us trading out pick 1 unless Saints would do pick 7&8 for pick 1 although I can't see us doing that as none of the 5 players Conole mentioned as pick 1 candidates would slip that far. It would have to involve pick 12, 18 and 19.

Possibles-
Picks 12 and 18 or 19 for the Pies pick 6 or the Dockers pick 5.

I've switched over to SEN the last couple of days, a lot more reasoned discussion eg. Anthony Hudson, Brett Anderson and to a lesser extent Ox and Marko.

Barrett and Wallace are seriously the 2 most annoying pundits I have ever heard.
