Do not want. Had the pleasure of sitting next to his grandmother at the Gabba. She paid for her own ticket!!!!!!!!!!!! Who the hell doenst give there grandma a free ticket to the game!!!!!!!

Obviously fails the character test
If he comes to play for us I'll start a crowd fund to buy his grandmother a season ticket!

Looking through the list of delistings the last year or two, and gee, you could really make a pretty good team. A lot of clubs looking at the rebuild at the moment are letting go of some pretty decent players for age reasons.

2017: Troy Menzel, Zac Clarke, Mitch Hallahan, Ben Kennedy, Jack Trengove, Sam Gibson, Lachie Hansen, Aaron Mullett, Steve Morris, Michael Talia.
2016: Ryan Crowley, Courtenay Dempsey, James Gwilt, Michael Barlow, Matt de Boer, Tendai Mzungu, Clancee Pearce, Jake Barrett, Jack Grimes, Mitch Brown, Kane Lucas

I know a lot of them were delisted for good reason, but there's plenty there that would be worth a shot on the list over a few of those 'mid-20s and still can't get a game' players on our list. Any team in finals territory, there's 2 or 3 available this year who wouldn't be in the first 10 names selected each week, but who'd definitely be best 22...

For those playing along at home. It was/is Matt Kennedy. Giants keen to deal with us over the Blues. Not sure Kennedy is as keen according to the latest report...

Would be very happy with him. Would give pick 12 but we might need a sweetener.

KENNEDY TO BLUES IN TROUBLE?

- Sam Landsberger and Sam Edmund

CARLTON has hit a speed bump in its pursuit of Greater Western Sydney midfielder Matthew Kennedy.

The struggle for Kennedy comes after the Blues had the rug pulled from underneath them on Tom Rockliff (Port Adelaide), Devon Smith (Essendon) and almost certainly Adam Saad.

Brisbane Lions are watching closely and have long wanted Kennedy. The Gabba window is ajar because the Blues do not have a second-round selection to satisfy the Giants.

Sources close to Kennedy remain confident a deal with Carlton will eventually get done.

The midfielder recently nominated the Blues as his preferred destination, preferring a move to Melbourne.

A month ago Kennedy told the Lions ‘no’. But as trade period approaches halftime, Kennedy’s current club might prefer to send him north.

The Lions are armed with picks 1, 12, 18 and 19 in next month’s draft.

It is understood Carlton’s future second-round pick is now being discussed as both clubs ponder where the Blues might finish in 2018.

The Blues could yet part with superstar midfielder Bryce Gibbs with Adelaide suddenly stocked with early selections in the next two drafts.

The Crows boast picks 10 and 16 as well as two 2018 first-round picks. They could net another early selection should they trade contracted goalkicker Charlie Cameron to the Lions.

Kennedy wants to come to Melbourne because it is closer to his hometown of Collingullie.

The inside midfielder played 16 games for the Giants this season although did not play in any of the club’s finals.

Blues’ football boss Andy McKay said Kennedy was similar to star Patrick Cripps.

He wants to come to Melbourne because it's closer to Wagga? Have these people looked at a map?

Closer to Collingullie? Wouldn't have thought that would matter much TBH.
So small (221 head - of people) they call it a village, not a town. Still it has produced two AFL footballers.

That'd be a great little coup. Worth asking the question. Should be able to offer him better money than Carlton as well (not suggesting we throw the kitchen sink at him, but you often have to pay more to attract external talent. Worth paying more on his first contract to get him in the door). Worth pick 19, we may even get a bit of change back. Maybe pick 19, and trade pick 11 for pick 12.

Would the AFL take kindly to a Veale Deal MkII if it was us and GWS?
