It all hinges on Gibbs getting to Adelaide. Adelaide naming Zorko is just making a statement that they want an experienced player. Swap Zorko for Gibbs and we have a deal.

If they believe he will play ok anyway then by keeping him at worst they are swapping a year if Charlie for whatever pick they don't get this year. If they believe he would thus contribute to a successful flag campaign it is not exactly madness to choose to keep him from their perspective...

If we had the choice between keeping a player for another year that we believe would help us win a premiership at the expense of losing him for nothing at the end of that year, I'm fairly sure most on this board would say keep him.

Personally I'm confident and expecting the deal to get done.

Well I like what Fagan and Noble have done this year and if they stand firm on Schache and Cameron and not give away our prized draft picks or All Australians, I will like them even more. We have no reason to be bullied here and I don't think these two guys seem like they will buckle under pressure.

Time is going to run out for a lot of trades this year. I would imagine there are a lot of clubs facing off to see who blinks and when someone finally does it will be too late anyway to complete further trading. Is it possible that the AFL extends if nessessary?
