Lets just hold out horses on this, so much incorrect stuff coming out ATM.

If it is true, why is pick 12 so bad? If our pick 12 this year turned into Charlie Cameron in 4 years time - we would be stoked and tick it off as a great pick. We just get to skip 4 years development. People need to remember, we also have on field needs for the next 12 months, we can't afford to go backwards. We need run and carry through the wing and midfield. He is worth about pick 20.. he is contracted so we need to go up the order.

What would people want for Lewey? about pick 20 I would say. If he was contracted, we would cross our arms and demand more. He is far better than Lewey at this stage.

With everything we are offered we cry 'weak draft'... but when it comes to offering our pick 12 the sky is going to fall in.

You can make this exact argument for pick 18.

12 is an objectively stupid trade.

Jake Niall saying we offered a pick in the 70s for Hodge, but the Hawks preferred to swap future third round picks as part of the deal.

Niall added that Brisbane said no, and pointed out they can walk Hodge to the PSD
Wtf, can't believe the Hawks would ask for anything let alone 3rd rounders in a much better draft. pick 70/80 odd or PSD

Off very recent history this is absolutely true

I bet too that PLENTY of clubs have been enquiring with absolutely ludicrously poor lowball trade offers for Schache too. Sure, we know of a couple in the media, but I reckon there's a lot we'll never know about. Keeping Schache this trade period and telling these clubs to shove it, will certainly go a long way to earning a bit of respect at the trade table in the future one would hope.

The Age reporting it is fact that Pick 12 is on the table for Cameron.

I have been very reserved in my judgement up till now...

But this is an absolute disgrace. Why don't we just throw in pick 1 as well. Cameron ain't worth Pick 40 and we're giving up 12 which could be someone like Clark, O'Brien or Bonar? Shame, shame, shame

Hopefully its cameron and pick 16 for 12 and 20. Something like that
Adelaide no longer have pick 16, went to Carlton in the Gibbs trade.

Are we doing the backing in our footy thing still? IF true, they are informed enough to know we can wait, and together.. the decision may have been taken to do pick 12 - it might be overs, but so was the Lever and Gibbs deal. It is far from stupid or outrages. We tend to dramatically under rate anyone wanting to come and dramatically over rate our players, its the nature of the beast.

Pick 40? lets try and keep the discussion reasonable shall we.

Lobbe for 95.. lol we should've taken a punt. Surely he's a better backup than Archie.

550k a year of cap space for 2 years for a back up ruck in the NEAFL? the only reason we were ever linked to Lobbe was as a replacement for Martin, should he leave, that was squashed very early in the piece.

Yes, pick 40. The guy averages 10 disposals and less than a goal a game in a top side.

What are you expecting from him in our developing side? Highly unlikely his numbers get better with us, given how little we get the ball inside 50.

What makes this worse is that we basically could get him for nothing next year. So, so, so, stupid

The reason it's stupid is because we are still rebuilding our list and we can't afford to overpay. Melbourne and Adelaide are different stories because their list are in finals contention.
