I can't think of a worse stat to hype a player up with, I guess Zorko would be the Brownlow favourite if he bounced the ball a few more times.

I'm using that stat to support he is a running type player and would bring that to our side. Would you disagree with that?

All stats are the same, friend.

Saints fans reporting we are into Jack Lonie.

I think he's a midfielder getting forced to play as a more permanent small forward type in the seniors. Only short but quick, good in the contest and brings pressure. VFL form been very good of late. Would come very cheap.
This kid can play, maybe a swap for one of our fringe talls.

Not the worst stat ever. With his speed opposition teams wouldn't be able to set up as quick defensively and would lead to more scoring opportunities.

Saw quite a bit of him at TAC Cup level and was pretty keen on us drafting him. Interestingly he played as much small forward then as he did midfield. You assume a guy his height and pace will eventually play midfield but Saints probably have more small forward options than they need in Dunstan, Billings, Ross etc. And guys like Gresham, Newnes and Steele have probably overtaken him in the midfield hierarchy to an extent.

A Lonie playing for Brisbane, we can't have that surely?

Like him as a player, just don't see him as anything more than a small forward for our team though.

Part of being a good quick offensive team is being able to get out the back. Having blokes like Cameron and Taylor in the one team will be hard to defend. 'Instability' players shall I say.

He has a good long penetrating kick, has speed in bucket loads, tackles and kicks goals. I think we'll take him if he is available.

He doesn't have a long penetrating kick. On set shots struggles to kick 40m.

Has great run and speed, also has excellent tackling pressure which we lack big time in our forward line.

However people on here saying he has great skills haven't been watching many crows games.

Pick 18 is definitely overs imo

Contracted for another year. We'd have to pay a bit more just on that fact. I reckon a second round pick is fair. Maybe a 4th or 3rd rounder coming back to us. But I wouldn't be upset if it was our second pick.

We probably won't have a live 2nd pick if we took it to the draft with ballenden probably getting a bid around that mark.

Lol no they aren't, a mark is a mark but some players bounce the ball 2 or 3 times in 15m and some run the full distance without a bounce. Just a weird stat to be crowing about.

Not sure on Lonie.

Fages sees having damaging ball users in the back half as the key driver of his game plan. This is why we drafted Witho, Cox, have seen Rich become a permanent fixture there and Paps not so.

The interest in Savage is strong.

Keyword.

An even weirder stat to be picky about? I literally used it to back up the fact he is a running player.

Did see him as a junior too. Everything I've seen of him at reserves level screams midfielder who can go forward rather than the other way around. He is only small at 174cm.

He'd come for next to nothing you would assume.

On Lonie, the Saints poster who had first brought it up does have a pretty good record when it comes to their player movements. Only reason I decided to bring it up here.

Spoke to Mr MM about this....said he'd not be fussed one way or the other if Lonie left. While being a good in/out player in his opinion, he reckons he mouths off too much and causes trouble.....

How other Saints fans feel, I don't know.

Would take a matera lonie and cameron trade period any day if we kept rocky and pick 1.
