Make it an overhead smash that's not coming back
I don't think player movement in this form is justification for a PP. We have the option to match for Rocky, but elect not to and get a compensation pick. Schache is contracted and we could hold him to that contract, it's effectively our decision to trade him (even if it really isn't). On the flip side we're doing our best to sign a contracted player in Cameron from the Crows on the same grounds as Schache's likely departure.
Other clubs lose players to FA, other clubs lose players to the go home factor. This is nothing that demands special treatment.

They're seriously talking down Schache on SEN at the moment. On the other hand they're talking up Francis... that's the Vic bias coming in.
They did mention that Hawthorn could be interested in Schache, and perhaps the Hawks 2018 rd.1 pick. i'd d that trade. Throw in Hodge as steak knives for a bit of fun.
(As much as that disrespects Hodge, all he needs is a trade between the 2 clubs to get to Brisbane, I'm sure he doesn't give a shit how he gets to the Lions)

Still guaranteed to be a pick in the top 18 picks in a "super-draft". Unless we can pries pick 6 out of the pies cold clammy hands, I don't see us doing much better this year.

Nathan Wilson trade to Fremantle could be interesting for us. Dockers have Picks 5 and 40 and Giants have stated they want a pick inside 20 for Wilson.
Something like 12+19 (2200 points) for 5 +40 (2300 points) could work.
Freo have pick 19 to get Wilson and still have pick 12 in the draft to get in a quality player (and possibly pick 12 is a better fit for their needs (talls) and the likely draft position of some WA prospects)
Pick 5 gives us a shot at another of the better midfielders and pick 40 is points for Ballenden.

Geez I think Wilson is a seriously good half back flanker, really quick and a great kick. Perfect age too. A late first rounder is probably what GWS will ask for and rightfully so. I think the suggestion of 5 and 40 for 12 and 19 is a really good one that would help Freo get Wilson and get us that top 10 pick we want.
Very strange the Rockcliff paper work hasn't been lodged yet.

Yeah I think that's pretty clear. I was pretty keen on the whole Lobbe situation a few days back but in reality that's pretty fanciful. There's definitely something brewing though

What is with this notion in this day and age that trade should be "entertaining", particularly for a club like the Lions that is reemed year after year?
IMO it is the worse time of year as a Lions fan and it is now further compounded that contracted players aren't off limits either and are being pushed out of the club.
