By loophole he just means the fact we can't sign him as a free agent and therefore can't damage our compensation. Nothing new. Plenty of clubs done similar things. I don't see it as strange at all, emotionally confused 20 year old, probably got asked some pretty confronting questions eg- Why did you sign a 2 year contract extension and now want to leave? Do you feel you are letting the Lions down?
