Two firsts. The guy has been on Neighbours - try getting that kind of experience around the traps.

Edit: I googled one of the shows he's on.

Three firsts.
I watched a random movie on my hard drive a couple of years ago & he was in it. Playing a younger version of the main character in a flashback. Picked him straight away. He would've been about 12-13 years old.

I tell you what - if we land Lever, I find our tall mix intriguing for next year.

Do we play three talls in defence in Lever, O Mac and Frost?

Will Frost re-sign or would Lever arriving mean he looks elsewhere?

Do we continue to play T Mac up forward? If so, is there room for Weid if T Mac and Hogan play forward?

Where does Pedo fit, who's played some great footy this year?

And what about Watts?

Lever would no doubt add class to our backline. But I'm still surprised we are falling over ourselves to get him. I'd be chasing hard for a Gaff or Whitfield. Much more needed than Lever. Having said that, Lever looks to be a gun, and I see no reason why we couldn't play him, OMac and Frost in the same backline. Lever and Frost are quite versatile and I do feel we are a little light on for talls. So adding one more, especially a young potential gun, is always welcome..

I'm in your camp in preferring to chase a high quality outside mid than Lever. But it seems we're up to our ears in trying to get him across.

Supposedly Andrew Brayshaw's a late first/early second prospect.
Well, he'll be an upgrade on Hulett/Kennedy/Smith depending on who we delist. Hopefully we keep the good young talent coming in.

That said, I am also not sold on Lever. The issue i see is we'll have to pay him overs due to the bidding war that will no doubt happen.

I'm all for bringing in top end talent, but if we're going to throw the cheque book at someone I'd prefer it in an area we are really deficient.... like a superstar mid.

Brandon Matera could be an interesting small forward target who would likely come pretty cheaply.

Could be a handy addition as another crumber who applies good forward pressure, Richmond have shown it can be quite damaging. After Jeffy we don't really have too many crumbing options
Yep I thought the same thing re Matera.

It's early days yet but I think given a bit of time OMac will make that position his own.

Besides one or two good games a season, he's not much good. So flaky. He's a reasonably dangerous goal kicker, but I'm not sure he's very good at putting pressure on in the F50, which is absolutely a pre requisite as a small forward these days.

I think from memory he was on the way to a bit of a breakout year this year before injury struck. Jeff Garlett was flaky at best when we recruited him too. I think if we could snag him for a good price then why not, a change of clubs could be the kick up the ass he needs.

Garlett had shown a hell of a lot more at Carlton but I think Matera is worth a Crack.

Our club has turned Hibberd/Melk/Garlett/Vince/Frost etc for the better
Had a couple failures in Kennedy/Lumumba/Michie/Newton but they were all relatively cheap.

Could get him for a 3rd rounder and he can certainly kick a goal
