I divulge this with a level of trepidation in case it's pure crap but somebody within the know who has told me it, so I have to say it. Sam Frost is out of contract at the end of the year and my source has told me the Bulldogs have offered him a lucrative contract. I didn't believe it but then I found this article showing he's out of contract, and now I'm worried. Hope it's not true.

Considering we paid pick 23 for him I'd be expecting the dogs first rounder back which might give us the 2 picks we need for Lever
Plus if the Dogs are chasing frost they ain't getting Lever

I love Frosty but even I can concede that lever will be a better player

Well, they'll have to give up something for him. We can't let him go unless we've got Lever coming in. If it turns out to happen it'll be a win for us, effectively upgrading one of our bottom 50% of the best 22

I think the more and more we play OMac the less chance we go for Lever i reckon

Yes OMac needs to tidy up a few issues but I think he is a cheaper option and gives us Cap room to resign our young guns

p.s I have been a huge OMac basher in recent times

Looks like the real reason he is playing in the VFL

He played that 1 terrible game and got dropped which was surprising but obviously more to it

No point playing him if we can't match the offer another Club is willing to give

Play OMac for now

He might be out of contract, but unless he want sto go to the draft a club is oing to have to ttrade something for him.

I'd say he's retained draft value, and seeing he's now physically ready to play and in our best 22, you'd say even appreciated a little/ Pick 15-25?

Dogs will have something like 7 and 25.
7 too much alone 25 not enough for mine
Maybe 7 for Frost and our 2nd?

Dogs will not be keen to part with their first. They might be able to trade into a good spot, if they've got some dead weight they are trying to move off the list. They might be trying to trade in a gun with the cap space of Boyd and Murph opening up, that could involve their first, a player and them getting a late first back perhaps.

Any trade that involves us losing Frost and gaining a first is a steal.

Don't know why we would get Frost for 23, turn him into a much better player and then let him go for less unless there is a player on the dogs list we are looking at.
Clay Smith seems to be the type of junk yard dog tackler that Goody loves

I agree, its not in our interests to lose a best 22 player for a second. But short of the Dogs putting up a player we want or trading elsewhere to get a 15-20 pick, i'm unsure what will happen.

Might end up being a bit like Hibberd and Essendon.

That said, I cannot wait until a club decides to send a message and sends a player to the draft.

20-30. Frost is worth a 2nd round pick at most, I think the Doggies 2nd would be a fair deal.

Well this is interesting - Lever is apparently not keen on joining the Dogs: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-08-21/exclusive-dogs-told-theyre-out-of-jake-lever-hunt

This could be entirely incorrect, but it leads me to wonder if we're in the box seat for Lever, and Frost has a big offer to join the Bulldogs now they need a KPD...
If the Dogs are throwing big dollars at Frost it works in our favour for a high pick.

I wonder if it'll be

Dogs 1st & 2nd for Frost & MFC 1st

Then the Dogs' 1st goes to Adelaide as part of the Lever deal.

I can guarantee you right now not a single club in the AFL would give up a pick lower than 20 for him.
North gave pick 18 for Jed Anderson
Tigers gave one for Yarran
McEvoy etc

Losing frost for 26 would be huge loss. He's 23 and played 50 odd games. Has incredible athleticism and has already shown huge improvement from last year to this. He was a massive part of our brilliant first half of the season because Omac was average. Only way I'd give him up is if his pick is used on Lever
