North gave pick 18 for Jed Anderson
Tigers gave one for Yarran
McEvoy etc

Losing frost for 26 would be huge loss. He's 23 and played 50 odd games. Has incredible athleticism and has already shown huge improvement from last year to this. He was a massive part of our brilliant first half of the season because Omac was average. Only way I'd give him up is if his pick is used on Lever
Spot on, I'll be spewing if we lose Frost for less than the pick 23 we gave up for him. Sure we got pick 40 and pick 53 back but pick 53 is a nothing pick and he's improved out of sight since then.

We sourced our key position defenders with a pair of pick 53's

Been thinking about trades while driving, and I wonder if the Dees had a word to GAJ.
If he is desperate to leave GC, and the cats can't get a deal done, what better outside mid could we get besides GAJ?

99.9% not going to happen, but I would be interested in asking.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gawn down to clarry, hb out to Jones, hb over to GAJ, takes a run and hits Hogan on the chest 40m out.

whilst I like the idea of the best player I've ever seen wearing a Melbourne jumper, GC will want too much for a bloke who will be 34 next year and will only be taking a younger blokes spot.

Would all come down to cost, and he won't be playing anywhere outside Geelong next year I reckon.

Agree with everyone and their thoughts above,

But I also thought that Melbourne the city is close enough to home for Gaz and would turn all of Melbourne, Geelong, Richmond into real contenders.

Why isn't there any talk of this, just whispers about him to Geelong?

You just know for a fact that if we trade Frost he will end up a multiple AA star at the crows.
I rate Frost. I think our backline works great when he's defending well and taking on the opposition with his pace. He adds a dangerous attacking element most teams don't have in a KPD. His disposal does let him down though, and when he's out of form, our backline looks dysfunctional.

No doubt Lever is a better player. If Lever nominates the Dees, I personally think a fair trade would be Frost and a 2nd round pick. Because Frost IMO isnt miles behind Lever. We'd be still taking a risk on Levers potential, not necessarily his ability right now. Plus, giving up a good KPD and a first round pick is a lot, but Adelaide would want nothing less than that, and in the end, if Lever lives up to his potential, and Frost (still with a high ceiling himself) keeps improving, then I think the trade is a fair one for both sides.

Yes, but in all honesty, who would you rather in a Dees jumper next year? Vince or GAJ? Will never happen, but I agree that it wouldn't hurt to ask. Our premiership window is now opening and a player like GAJ would give us more chance next year than Vince IMO.

I think it's pretty obvious gaz wants to go back to geelong. It was the same case with dangerfield, I think there was talk of a big offer to get dangerfield, melbourne is close enough to geelong. But dangerfield waited a year because he wanted to go home.

I think this every time we trade away a player. Rarely happens.
Agreed - simply cannot think of many players who've gotten better after leaving us.

There are more Simon Buckley, Chris Johnson, Jack Fitzpatrick, Cale Morton, Jamie Bennell, Sam Blease, Jimmy Toumpas, Brent Moloney types than Stefan Martin and Scott Thompson.

I also think Lever will be a multiple AA player so if we need to give frost up to get that across the line, I'm okay with it.

Agreed. But I imagine they'll go Frost + 2nd > Frost + 1st + 2nd with Adelaide's 1st coming back > Frost + 1st with Adelaide's second coming back > Frost + 1st
