Trade bait - Lycett, Mackenzie (surely this is a must), Marsden
Know for a fact that Rory Lobb was offered a ludicrous offer to come West last contract but turned it down for far less pay because internally the message being shoved down their throats is 'you'll win at least 3 if you stick around'.
I think if they haven't won a flag by next contract then he'll come back to Perth.
Found this on the Adelaide board:
Make of that as you will.
Ten WA juniors invited to the draft combine with mature age hopeful Tim Kelly one of thèm .
Promising sign for the SF 21 yr old .
Isn't he 23?
23 today !!!
Sounds like a player we need. Wonder where he will go in the draft? 20-30?
Ruck depth is cheap - rookie a 7ft kid or trade inboxed workmen ruckman.
So spend picks on mids (start in the square types ) not HBF/wing want be's and a top KP forward.
Fill in around them with left overs and those that don't quite make it in the square
We had the opportunity to do that with Lobb and Hogan i guess but clearly it didn't fit in with our recruitment strategy.
I think people in Perth misunderstand the "go home" factor that Perth has. As someone who left Perth for Sydney, there's no way i want to go back to live in Perth. The same could be said of going to Melbourne, most people would consider those cities significantly better to live in.Wasn't it all over the news that we had made offers to both, particularly Hogan?

So unless there's a really strong family pull back to Perth, most aren't going to be moved.
Agree also. Born and Raised in Perth, Lived in England, Sydney and now Melbourne and don;t see myself moving back to Perth till I retire (and even then its no guarantee). I'm very close to my family, but Melbourne is my home now, and Perth is where I'm from and my Family lives.Yeah agree, I live in Perth and Melbourne prior to being in Sydney and I have no interest in leaving.
I would be happy with Higgins at that position.https://thesidelineofficial.blog/2017/07/25/2017-afl-mock-draft-july-edition/
Monocle you would be pleased with who they picked for us.
Dow who went next would be good toohttps://thesidelineofficial.blog/2017/07/25/2017-afl-mock-draft-july-edition/

He gets his hands on the ball at clearances and is a proven goal kicker. Only downside is his height and I will happily live with that.
"Wins clearances and is always clean by hand and foot".I don't know if I posted this before but I've read that Higgins has a stand out work ethic and I think our recruiters like that more than most.
