Jeremy is free agent next year?
would he actually be restricted? This is top 25% of the list right?

hopefully this is all just bs. for whatever if its worth when huddo said it on radio today (i was listening at the time) it didnt sound like he had any reliable source other then putting 1 and 1 together.
To be restricted you either need to be in the top 10 or top 12 players in a list depending on if they count rookies or not. After priddis, Mitchell, Lecras all retire very hard to see him not being restricted.

the problem is he signed in 2015, basically his first season of regular footy.

so we dont really know what his contract look like in 2015, but its probably not reflective of the player he is.

There was a bit of talk last week that Jeremy was not happy how Priddas was treated and his brother Mitch has said no way I want to play for West Coast based on that.
He'd rather go play for Ross Lyon who famously announced after the 2011 GF that four of his players had "retired" when it was complete news to them?

How many of you see us as a club players want to come to? I just don't see us as an enticing prospect for any player now. I once thought we were but we really are more of a business than a footy club looking in from a long way away.

I'm Just saying what I heard, I actually think it was during the broadcast of the Lions game on the weekend.

Within the industry we've apparently got a great reputation for looking after our players.

New facilities will probably help too.

I think the biggest difficulty we have as a destination club is that players don't want to come to Perth.

Mitch McGovern is overrated.
He would worth sfa if he played for a Brissy and if his name wasn't McGovern.

It's going to be funny him struggling at Freo when he has the oppositions best tall on him and spuds like Kersten, tabaner and McCarthy not block or support him.

He 'd be one of our highest paid player here on his next contract, wouldn't surprise me if Jeremy's manager started the rumour just to drive his price up. He could get whatever he asked for I would imagine whereas Frei are copping up tonnes of cash for the Fyfe deal, plus whatever they offered McCarthy and others to move

I'm a little bit in the other camp.

If gov doesn't want to be here and form part of our success- he can go. He won't find it there.

Having said that, if they are offering 750k to a 23 year old 3rd tall with 10 goals from 8 appearances this year, Jeremy should be asking for at least 1.1 million a year!

As I said above it was during the lions broadcast, might of been Adam Papalia who mentioned it and then Brereton and co made comments.
There might be some truth in that he was annoyed at the situation but these things happen at every club every year. It would take something more than that to want to change clubs.

that's a good point, if they were to lure our gov would need to offer big bucks that I don't think they have

I just don't buy into the JMcGov rumours. He seems perfectly happy at West Coast, will be one of the highest paid players there next contract. Could be the captain or VC soon too. Sure, if any club threw an outrageous contract at him, he would have to consider it (Freo or otherwise) but it isn't like we couldn't match it. I also don't buy into the older brother following the younger brother or that Mitch is so immature he wouldn't want to come to WC, when he has been playing for Adelaide for several seasons already, if the offer was right. I understand the allure of playing for the team you grew up following and your father's club before being drafted but once that ship has sailed, I think you go to the best offer if you want to return home and playing where your older brother plays would outweigh playing for your dad's old club (especially when it isn't like a Silvagni type legend and dynasty).

I equally don't think any player could be upset how the Priddis situation was handled even taking on board I have no idea how it was handled. He had a contract and worst case scenario is they told him he would mostly be playing WAFL. Happens to all players at the end of their careers and it isn't like his form has been great and he was being told that. The writing was clearly on the wall regarding regeneration of the midfield and any reasonable person (as sad as they may be to see him go) couldn't blame a club for that. All clubs do it, including Freo. So why crack the sh*ts and go there?

Seems to be a typical baseless rumour as Mitch hasn't signed, their dad played for Freo and Jeremy is a restricted free agent in a year.

Whats with all the acres love? I haven't seen anything that really interests me to say he would be a top 15 player in the club
Thought the same thing for a while, bit overrated, didn't understand the hype.

But after watching him a fair bit recently i see he's got something to work with with his height and athleticism. Would be a good acquisition to our midfield for years to come.

What helps is that i think he's gettable. That emerging player who's unfortunately on the fringe of his team's best 22 players, in and out of the team, doesn't seem like a coach favourite. Think Sheed before Simmo finally gave him a solid run at it.

Chuck in the fact hes from WA and hes even more obtainable.

Hopper is in a similar boat only he's shown more and isn't from WA. It's purely a punt on potential here.

Why would any interstater come to us when Freo have the best training facilities and post-match recovery regime in the southern hemisphere? We will lose every homesick WA lad to the dockers every time just on that alone. I dont know the specifics of why our Lathlain facilities are not up to the same standard, but its a massive ball drop from the club all the same.

Word on the grapevine is that Ezy will be playing for freo next year anyway. Haven't heard anything about Gov but Gov jr was always heading to Freo.

Where i work people in our office are working on it. Facilities for the players are just as good if not better.
