Gaff plus Darling to Norths for pick 3, Goldstiegn and Anderson. Lamb could be steak knives.

Lycett gets traded to Port, Goldie is at least durable.

Vardy takes Darlings forward spot.

Pick 9 plus 28 to Crows for McGovern plus 17/18.

We end up with pick 3, 18, a second rounder from Port, McGovern, Goldstiegn and Anderson.
Where do I start .
●Goldstein is done
●Gaff shouldn't be traded
●norf won't give up pick 3 without gaff and our first with something coming back
●Vardy sucks as a forward compared to darling .
● Anderson is shit
● why would we give up our first for mcgovern? He is over rated getting the 4th best defender each week and has a dominant midfield supply. Worth our 2nd at most .
● lycett to port ? What would port have to give they don't have a first this year and they are campaigners at the trade table . Lycett is young enough to back in .He and natanui with full preseasons look out .

Whats Dylan Shield contract like? He reminds me of Daniel Kerr with his quick hands. Really want him in the side. Only issue is because he is so damaging he will get the tag.

Why would any of the gws guys leave ? unless they can't break into the team that is .
The afl has created a monster and they will dominate for years

$$$$ Throw all the money we got to Shiels a Tom Boyd deal.

Give Gws Gaff + Darling + Our first round

Get their first round + Shiel

Give Adelaid Gws First round + some other stuff like our second

Get Mcgovern Junior

Would lol since I don't think darling can break into Gws best 22.

I've seen enough of shields in the two games which I seen him. He is so good damaging when hes not tagged he will learn how to break it.

So really Gaff + Darling + first round + Second for Shiels + mcgovern

Agree with this, nothing I see in Duggan is A grade midfield. Has had a reasonable output on the half back line and he should be given the chance to make it his own. Like him a lot but never seen a player ever have so many of his kicks smothered.

Pretty much this from me as well, he isn't a total bust as he will become a very good HBF, but thats hardly a position of real need at the moment.
I was sceptical when we drafted him that he would develop into an A grade mid as the majority of his good work in the TAC Cup and Championships was as a HBF. I hope that in time he can become a HBF that can take a midfield rotation a couple of times in a game. Short of that I think it a case of what we have seen thus far is as good as it gets. He did come as a player heralded with elite foot skills, I was at least encouraged by this and initially this looked to be the case, but the quality of his foot skills seems to have regressed.

As Obeanie 1 has already mentioned its a repeat of the Sheppard selection.
Unfortunately our drafting team cant quite get a genuine A grade midfielder with our first round pick.

I am bracing myself for a repeat again this year as we take ( as an example ) someone like Coffield with the intention of developing him into a a grade big bodied midfielder, fingers crossed and all that, I hope it comes to fruition , but sadly our track record suggest we will come up short on the A grade midfielder but still get a decent AFL quality player , just one who doesn't help fix our midfield woes.

Recruiters and development coaches got a lot to answer for IMO.

There is a lot of luck involved in the industry. It's a hope industry and as the AFL have failed to create a seriously strong second tier league you are relying on hope drafting 18 year olds. The chances of you hitting the jackpot would be below 20%.
Every club would be hoping their recruiting is better but they all face the same hurdles.
I have more an issue with our club that we keep them too long when we already know what they have to offer after 2-3 years.

It's not that simple, I would love to have a player like Shiels but would he be as good in our side? He is a gun because he runs in packs with other guns. Christ Deledio can't even play midfield as a chop out at GWS and we would love to have a player like him on our list.
Cousins, Judd and Kerr are all champions and together they were a premium midfield, but if we had only one of them we would not of gone close in 2006. You have to be very lucky to have 3 of them, GWS have this at the minute, Geelong do as well and maybe Sydney and Adelaide also. Not a coincidence where they sit on the ladder.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but lately I have been dreaming about what Bolton could do with our list. He is not on a contract and I am sure we could pay him way more than Carlton can. He has got that team playing some very good football.
Bolton has signed up for/and driving the cultural change at Carlton and this is starting to show in the on-field performances. Nisbett still drives our culture and there is no way in hell he would allow Bolton to have his way with the club. Additionally Carlton have Silvani as List Manager who is one of the best while we are taking baby steps with Rawlings with Vozzo clogging up the corridors as his boss.

I do not think Bolton is struggling to provide for his family and hence why would he change?

Gaff plus 9 for a 6 pick upgrade? Um no way.

Goldstien needs a fesh start is 29 and durable. Lycett is not and we wouldnt get a 1st round pick, more like a 2 nd rounder. Natanui returning from a reco shouldnt be expected to carry the ruck load.

Vardy is more a kp forward tjan a ruck.

The trade for Gov was a 8 spot downgrade on our first plus a 2nd. In this draft pick 17 is still a decent pick. Mitch value is on the rise.

I'm more concerned with how you insist on putting a 'g' in Goldstein.

AFL clubs prefer to go with hope options on an 18 year old kid for some reason, recruiting seasoned men footballers is against AFL policy it seems.
Barlow? Vandenberg? Menegola?

Why are you trying to trade a ruckman in Obeanie1 ?

Id like us to trade in a more durable mature ruck to take the pressure off Naitanui returning from a reco and trade out Lycett to balance the ledger. If we are lucky we'd get a 2nd rounder for Lycett.

We just need a true durable ruck and unfortunately thats not Nic noe Lycett.

We should also use a late pick or rookie draft to get a young 200cm ruck to develop, they can take 3 to 5 preseasons.

With Lycett back next season, could Vardy play permanent forward?

Exactly, you have named 3. Over 100 get drafted and all of them are total hopes and unknowns.
Kane Lambert, Luke Ryan, Hugh Greenwood, Brett Eddy the list could go on and these are all in the last few seasons. Just saying it's not uncommon at all for a few players aged in the low 20's to get drafted. There will be more the year too, Liam Ryan, Tim Kelly etc

No chance mate

Im totally not against trading gaff but that said we are overly harsh on gaff. Last night was pathetic but gaff is normaly one of our consistent players and has a high work ethic. To me he is cooked and he has a history of playing through injuries and niggle and yesterday was the first time in ages gaff has got under 20 touches and wasn't tagged. Along with Shuey, he seems to have lost a lot of pace. When those two guys kill it, we usually kill. This time last year those two drove us to beat Hawks, gws and crows.

That's why im not overly into trading gaff, unless it's nets us a gun mid.

People thinking that jets such as Shiel and Kelly will leave GWS to play for us are absolutely dreaming. Unless they are getting over a million dollars in their home states there is no way they would leave a team thats probably going to win 3 premierships in the next 5 years

I would like to see Vardy in the KPF with an occasional chop out in the ruck. In that event, I see it as Vardy or Lycett. I cannot see a team with NicNat, Lycett and Vardy. A Vardy up front means oppositions would need to give best defender to JK, next best to Vardy and Jack should be given an lighter opponent and hopefully dominates.
