That would have been the reason a few years ago, at a guess, I think now he'd look to get the most money from what's left of his career.

We won't offer more than 1 year, GWS seem happy to take older players on a few years.
He contemplated retiring before his last contract. I'd say it's a short contract with us or curtains.

He and Masto will be able to focus on their true passion now; The Coffee Cheaters.

Thoughts on Shane Nelson from West Perth?

i have a feeling we are targeting David Zaharakis. Out of contract and when given his opportunity he was a very good number 1 or 2 mid. Him and Shuey are life long friends and I think we would be able to offer more than the Bombers by far and would be a great pick up.

Wellingham won't take 1 year, he'll go to GWS for more cash and premiership.

With all these guys going, we'll have plenty of cash to wave at Kelly / Martin.
Why the **** would GWS want a flakey turnover merchant like wellingham .

I'd rather keep Lamb than Mountford.

Also rather our MC actually gives Lamb a game FFS.

I would rather keep Lamb too but the mail is that he will head back to Victoria at seasons end.

We have plenty of money to target some superstars - just need one gun mid!!!

Showed a bit????? Got gifted a game or two....very patchy form at EP. No great loss if he goes.

His form was actually pretty good prior to his debut, he was in a similar position to Partington in that he was basically demanding selection.

Since he's dropped back his form's been patchy.

Damn these kids not dominating from the get go. Delist them all.[/QUOTE

WAFL is a long way below where it used to be and for him to NOT figure among best players weeek after week suggests something is a miss.

Fivey.....Partington wasn't demanding selection. The public were baying for blood and Partington had been just OK. He DID however have that one stand out game 3 weeks earlier where he kicked 4 and had 28 touches. These 2 might become good players but either was demanding selection at that time they were picked. Lamb the same......happened to get 20 plus in las game and bang.......emergency spot and a trip to Sydney.
I'm all for supporting these kids but I don't think they're doing enough OR being developed correctly at EP.

That all makes sense for the Swans and pre cap increase.

But the Swans have serious quality depth to use cap space on qe dont. Are we going to keep ovee paying under achievers like Le cras, Wellingham and Emac?

The overall cap just increased by $2 mill, who do we pay that to?

I think we are in the position to front load a contract in a big way which then provides flexibility later. Remember Hurn and Kennedy are 30 next year as well.
I agree if it's very front loaded it could work. I doubt somebody like Kelly would agree to a contract like that though
