I'm really keen to explore Rockliff as a FA. Think he's exactly what we need.

english mateClub were up fron tiwh Sinclair - they weren't going to pay as much or offer as long a contract as Sydney for a ruck 3.

Actually clubs offered them their second and third stringers trying to kick loose some of their top draft pick / 17 year old concessions and gold coast / gws told them politely no.Their point was also invalid.
If it wasn't completely irrelevant to this thread, which is about this upcoming trade period and not what we hypothetically could have done six or seven years ago, and if I hadn't already pointed it out several times previously, I'd point out that it's a complete fantasy that we could have gotten anything of value for Priddis, or Masten, or any other whipping boy de jour, because neither Gold Coast nor GWS were at all interested in giving up anything of value for existing players in their first couple of years. They got a handful of mature players as free agents and they very occasionally traded in key position players like Warnock and Gilham for minor pick swaps and that was it.
But it's completely irrelevant to the thread so I won't bother pointing it out.
Priddis has never been a top shelf player tho...Actually clubs offered them their second and third stringers trying to kick loose some of their top draft pick / 17 year old concessions and gold coast / gws told them politely no.
Name one top shelf player that was rejected?
Whatever loose change the guys had in the bottom of their footy bags and a Golden shower from Here2tellyouwhy

That would be the crux of the matter wouldnt itPriddis has never been a top shelf player tho...
Seems very odd that Geelong aren't going to offer him a contract, I thought he was nearly 30 but he's only just about to turn 26 next month. We should offer Daniel Menzel a 2-3 year deal. He has done better (36 goals at 2.3 goals per game) than all our forwards bar Kennedy. Won't cost us anything in terms of draft picks.
*As long as they have half back flank potentialWe should look at signing the better players in the league.

Better chance this year than any other year of late.
Priddis and mitchell are gone - leaves a big vacuum
Thought the same thing the other day. Wasn't he one of their up and coming stars? I mean yes he has struggled with his knees but he is back on track and having a decent year.
Wonder if they know something we don't about his injuries. It's weird that they would stick by him for so many years, he finally gets back to playing some decent and fairly consistent football and then they don't even offer him a contract. Something not right here.Yeah very odd. Kicked 69 goals in 34 games since the start of 2016 which is better than what Darling, Lecras, Cripps or Hill has done for the past 2 seasons.

Apparently been no offer at all, but this might shed some light on it:Possible they have offered him a one year deal and he wants a lot more?
Is it just me or does it seem like
Karpany and mutimer are pretty average footballers and won't cut it??
Or have we not seen enough of them to make a call?
Our development is pretty suspect so it's hard to know where these fringe guys are at in the clubs view.
Karpany - I'm just worried his combination of timidness and slight build is going to make it hard for him to succeed at AFL level. Really needs a mongrel injection if he is going to battle to get 15 touches. Seems a confidence player and needs to hit the weights if he wants to succeed.
Mutimer - Growing into a fair sized body and the bulk cost him run in his AFL matches from what I saw. Got into some dangerous spots and had a good number of shots for a youngster in our HHF death-trap position but let him self down with poor defensive running. Definitely worth persisting with and looks like he could give us a much harder edge around the ball in time.
Our midfield was very dysfunctional this year in most ways. I think that makes it tougher for the fringe guys when they get a crack in the seniors as our whole game plan is under duress from the get go.
