What sort of credibility does this poster have? Happy to hear about posters with credibility but who is DPS!

I think Monocle got it right when he wrote up :

"Constable: He is a bit of an enigma in so much as he doesn't have a lot of pace and yet he just manages to find the football in close and then has this uncanny knack of getting to where the ball is going to be next. Very good foot skills and reads the play brilliantly. He is a pretty polished player. At this point in time I want to see more of how he closes the season out as with Sandringham, as he will play finals for sure. I don't mind this kids skill set just his lack of pace worries me."

I personally would prefer Hunter Clark, Lochie O'Brien, Andrew Brayshaw or Jack Higgins ahead of Constable who according to the DPS list were later picks. Glad the club has come out publicly and stated we need to prioritise our midfield in the draft

Lack of pace says to me 2nd round pick. He does sound a lot like Sam Mitchell though.

Karpany i'm a bit concerned about, has been on the list for 4 years now, should be showing more.

Mutimer has done enough to deserve another year IMO.
Think your right, how long is too long to persist with a kid ??

Perhaps steak knifes in a McGovern trade

With Mitchell and Priddis both out next year that at least opens up two spots for a player like Muitmer/Snadden/Venables/Partington to be given a chance in the center. Where as this year Muitmer and Partington have been played on the HHF.
More sheed and redden in the guts for me . less gaff at the centre bounces it's just not his game

Thats what i thought from reading it.

Trouble is we need pace desperately

Brayshaw and Clark both have good speed, Brayshaw more so. It would be great to land one of those guys plus a quality slider.

Suggested on the Rockliff FA thread we do a deal with the Lions, offer Rockliff a 4 year deal on coin that lands them either pick 2 or 3 as compo, which is slightly overs for Rockliff. They agree to trade in Masten + Wellingham for their 2nd pick. If we need to throw in our 3rd do it.

Lions 2nd would be like pick 20.

Lions get either pick 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 plus Masten, Wellingham and our 3rd pick 45ish.

We pay overs for Rockliff, no longer have Mastens contract and get pick 20ish.

Win / win / win / win.:D

Masten can FR off - is rockliff quick?

Rockliff isnt slow but where he is an upgrade on Mitchell and Priddis is he's only 28, he can tackle but impotantly he can play forward effectively which is important for both him and us. He can add to the midfield rotation but comfortably play forward and hit the score board.

Of all the available FA he fits our needs the closest. His age also ties in nicely with Kennedy.

Rockliff coming in wont take midfield time away from Sheed or others as he can play elsewhere but adds another bigger body.

Nah Wellingham along with Masten and others is one of the players that Xavier Ellis was talking about in the article he wrote. Just happy to rock up and get a paycheck and have heaps of instagram followers. Winning comes 2nd we need to get rid of all these kind of players unless we wanna keep losing 4th qtrs.

Interesting that a few of you are keen on Rockliff given his age and the fact that we're all complaining about how old a team we are and that none of the young blokes can get a game. Will take him time to get used to a new game plan, too.

I think it's because hes free. Means we get a quality mid while keeping all of our draft pics. Can rest fwd too so we aren't stuck with a Prid situation.

No to rockliff.id rather rebuild than he him. He's not a player that will make us a contender again and we'd be back in no man's land in 2 years time again. The rumours are that he seems to be a shit bloke and he'd probably suit a team with very strong culture that would bring him back to reality. Imo our culture would just make him worse.

Do you mind. We are trying to trade these guys and our 3rd for an upgrade into the start of the 2nd round.

This is not helping.:mad::mad:;)

Which article are you referring to?

After retiring Mitchell, Priddis, Butler, trading out say Masten and Wellingham, possibly Le cras retiring as well plus the normal list turnover how exactly do we become contenders before Kennedy retires? By drafting unproven 18 year olds with picks in the 5th and 6th rounds of the draft?

We have lots of cash but not many low draft picks. You need to work with what you've got.

Ohh ok yeah they are good i mean one is a premiership player and the other a pick 3 and both are very fashionable. They could definitely be the missing pieces at GWS and GCS
