I know we all cringe at the prospect of DFA's but, considering we may be culling a few more players than usual this year we may be looking for ways other than the draft to fill list spots. DFA's rarely grab my interest but I wonder if the club would look at all at Jarrad Jansen who just got cut from Brisbane? Being delisted by them is not a glowing endorsement but there was some talent there originally to work with and being an 190cm inside mid we may have some use for him.

East Freo product Jarrad Jansen delisted by Brisbane. He always seemed like the prototype Cripps-like 6'4" inside mid, but being delisted by a side that's won the wooden spoon and managing just eight games in four years in the system doesn't exactly scream "sign me up".

Screams 'Eagle's rookie list' though... o_O

How's his NEAFL form? Seems strange that a young player who had a fairly reasonable first-year in terms of playing at AFL level only gets one game and a de-listing in his 2nd. Off-field issues? Big knocks on his decision-making? Seems to have spent a lot of time on the HFF too, maybe with their midfield depth it was an attempt to make him a 3rd-tall or such?

But did he spend any time on the hbf?

How Kane you say that? Lucas much as you may dislike our choice of recruits from the last few years, last year was pretty promising.
Dicks to that. A Bedford truck with personalised plates reading 'JON' driving across a Tonne-Bridge in Broome would be more likely. Paper talks, bulls**t walks.

Know his family fairly well, apparently bulked up a heap of weight in his 1st year at Geelong, then trimmed up in his 2nd, played some decent VFL footy, then had an okay year last year, but bulked up again this year and form fell off again. No off field issues but agree decision making needs some work. Played pretty much all his juniors as a Mid, not suited as a third tall.

Sounds like the decision making he needs to work on is when to bulk up and when to trim down!!

Was he instructed by the Clubs to bulk up or are his problems diet related?

I've Gorter take exception with that, some of our recruiting last year was promising
When Crazy Vozzo was at the draft last year, we were all asking Willie Rioli the dice and choose SPP?
When it came to the rookie draft, I Drew a long breathe as I was Petrie-fied that we would choose poorly.

Lynch plays centre half forward? You mean Lever?

No Lever plays like J.McGovern - intercept specialist.

Adelaide push T.Lynch so far up the ground he often becomes an extra spare at the apex of the defensive 50. This aids the Crows defensive unit from being exposed by teams utilising short kicking tactics to pick apart zones. This is actually the only real structural difference (aside from personnel obviously) in the way that Adelaide set-up in contrast to the Eagles.

Watch when the Crows do their switch, you'll see Lynch looks for the initial kick from defense and then becomes the distributor to the runners pushing into space before going forward himself.
Indeed he is the equal 6th in the competition this season for score involvements per game on the back of doing this:
Score-Involvements-2017.jpg

The role requires a combination of elite endurance combined with the athleticism to be able to out-mark most run-with opponents.

Lamb has these attributes within him. He is very similar to Lynch in size also. I strongly believe that it is along these lines that his development at the club should progress.

I would love them to end up with Mayne, Matera and Reece Conca .
Three WA boys returning home.

Now that would be a Christmas present delivered early .
