Gaff will be an RFA. We refuse to trade him this year if no one comes with an appropriate offer. If he is rubbish, as many BF pundits indicate, how high is someone going to go on him? Next year we can match offers and double down on the Mitch Brown...ing of his ass.

Surely our worst case scenario is an end of first round compo next year with the coin he will end up on? Unders but if he plays like he did for most of this year...maybe not.

Listening to SEN -Gossage says we're the most likely club to trade for Gaff is you guys decide to play etc.

What is an appropriate offer do you think? Watched Gaff as a junior at Oakleigh and always thought he was extremely good talent.

You're a bit hamstrung by the rules about not being able to trade out of the first round year in year out. Hard to see a deal getting done there.

We can trade next years first rounder. The new rules don't come in to effect until 2019.

Does anyone else think we need to improve our over all sexiness? Aesthetically and on field performance.

I hope out recruitment team are assessing potential draftees parents for aesthetics.

Finally, someone is asking the right questions.

Now I hear we're probably going to de-list Sharrod I'm Swelling-ham. I just don't know where this club is going anymore.

It's interesting that Hawthorn are considered the front runners given you don't have the picks nor the players that I think West Coast would be keen on

There you go, you learn something every day.

Regardless, I'm not sure your 2018 first rounder would be enough, unless it's considered to be a particularly talented top end of the draft next year or we feel like betting on the Hawks falling further than this year.

Next years draft is considered to be highly talented. Much deeper than this years draft. If you had two picks inside 18, you would be doing very nicely. Just as an aside. I agree - a player would most likely have to be involved

Probably your 2018 first round pick + Hartung + Howe

EDIT Gaff Staying

Hasn't changed for me this is the group I would pick from :

Brayshaw.
Constable.
Higgins.
Coffield.
Clark.
O'Brien.
I too will find myself content with any of this list at this stage. Was unsure for a while on Constable, didn't see any real point of difference other than height by position, but have pretty much come around. Have probably been too harsh on his disposal, given where he finds a lot of the ball he gets off some reasonable handpasses to create space- there's stuff to work with for sure.

You do have to feel for the Crows losing all their players. On the flip side Adelaide is the biggest shithole in Australia. If you were a young rooster with a load of coin and a bag of wild oats to sow its gotta be Melbourne yeah?

Melbourne (easy work as an AFL player), Sydney (anonymity) or Perth (best looking women)

We would get a 1st round pick as compensation in 2018. Need more than Hartung. Who I believe is out of contract anyway.

Who have been their best trades? Betts, Sauce?

Betts was a free agent. They got Jacobs, Lynch and Jenkins pretty cheaply in trades.

Of the GF 22 they also got Brown (prelisted by Gold Coast) and Seedsman through trades.

Betts was a free agent grab, but aside from him Sauce, Tom Lynch, the mini-draft trade to get Brad Crouch, and Scott Thompson were/are all good pickups.

They've also traded in Jenkins, Brown, Menzel, and Seedsman whilst having several successful rookie picks like Cameron, Laird, Greenwood, and Kelly who all played in the grand final.

Wallace should learn to shut his boner socket. The only possible reason we trade Gaff now is so that we don't get shafted next year when he's a free agent. By shafted, that would be via a mid second round pick. Terry Wallace is one of those anomalies that football throws up from time to time. Appalling record of abject failure somehow held up as an expert.
That's the amazing thing - in my opinion he knows jacks**t!! Waste of space.
