Your thoughts on him Monocle?

I think he is worth a punt

Late pick maybe, fourth rounder not a high priority but I would not be against the idea.

Banfield or Mountford who`s the better pick?

Long term I think Banfield but both are worth considering, one of but not both.
But I must admit that I am a Banfield fan.

Afltrdon or wtf it is :

DAILY WRAP - Tuesday October 3

• Jake Lever has officially requested a trade back home to Victoria. Lever has reportedly labelled the Melbourne Demons as his preferred destination.

• GWS Giants midfielder Matthew Kennedy is another player to have requested a trade today - to Carlton.

• Jack Watts has told media today that if he is to leave Melbourne he will be forced out, rather than exiting on his own terms.

• Blake Caracella is the red hot favourite to become the head coach of the Gold Coast Suns.

• Geelong’s Steven Motlop today toured the Gold Coast Suns’ facilities. Port Adelaide have also shown interest in Motlop.

• Fox Sports are reporting that Tom Rockliff is set to join Port Adelaide.

• Josh Schache’s manager has confirmed he will be at the Brisbane Lions still, next year.

• Essendon is leading the race to land Jake Stringer.

• Carlton expect Bryce Gibbs to remain a Blue in 2018, as do Adelaide.

• A second-round pick is believed to be an adequate amount for any team to get Adam Saad from the Suns. Carlton and Essendon are two interested clubs.

• According to The Age, Fremantle will continue to persist with trying to bring Melbourne forward Jesse Hogan back home.

No eagulllz :(

The difference between montford and Banfield is that montford has pace and a great sidestep which he utilizes in games . Probably why he was drafted and Banfield not

I'd offer this year's pick 13 and 3yr/$2m to Kennedy.
I wouldn't , I think unproven young kids from gws are generally overrated. He certainly doesn't have runs on the board to justify giving away pick 13.

mountford is 181cm 75kgs and joins the rest of our short people.

You do have to feel for the Crows losing all their players. On the flip side Adelaide is the biggest shithole in Australia. If you were a young rooster with a load of coin and a bag of wild oats to sow its gotta be Melbourne yeah?
I think the Crows are a unique case. A lot is made of the fact that they've lost so many players but what isn't mentioned so often is the fact that they are (to my recollection) by their own admission one of the tighter clubs in the comp with their purse strings. That is, they just don't pay top dollar to keep their players. So you have to attribute some of those guys leaving to the fact that Adelaide weren't going to match what other clubs would pay.

That strategy is fair enough - with 22 guys out there every game it's justifiable to say that one player is not worth a huge slice of your salary cap. But it is what it is, and Adelaide have made their bed there.

Makes sense to me anyway - like others have said playing for Adelaide seems much more attractive than playing for Port on the surface, so the fact that Port don't have the same level of player retention indicates that it's not about having to live in Adelaide.

Burton did say that if Adelaide matched what Melbourne offered Lever, Lever would become the highest paid Crows player.

On the other hand, they did breach the salary cap just 5 years ago.

Both are valid points. Personally I think Lever's got a godfather offer and that's what Burton was commenting on. I also don't know whether their supposed policy of not overpaying is recent (as in say, the last 5 years, and perhaps a result of their naughty deeds).

Anyway, the main point was that Adelaide have had a part to play in their 'bad luck'.

different players banfield projects as a big bodied inside mid and dec has a crap load of toe about him both if develped right would be huge assets to us

He was a top 5 prospect that GWS got for a discount due to their academy. He has been playing some pretty good footy when the opportunity has arisen and seems to have developed as scouts expected with regards to his skills translating to AFL. He'll be a gun, and a chance to be top 3 on our list.

Carlton only have pick 38 as a 2nd rd pick to offer GWS for Kennedy ..haha GWS are about to get reamed ..
Probably for a future 1st. GWS don't have to trade tho, and he could go through the draft of PSD, where he'd be picked top 10 either way.

I didn't think that Adelaide had salary cap breeches ?
The extra payments were league wide like judds visy deal and they then tightened it up with all clubs .

It was draft tampering that as Adelaide was done for snd the trade clauses in tippetts contract

They'll probably offer their first for a package deal of Kennedy, Smith and Griffen. But yes, GWS are singlehandedly enabling Carlton's rebuild.
