I have no excitement about draft camp. It means little to nothing to me. Some redhead kid fron Rockingham smashed the endurance a couple of years ago. Went to goldcoast and I havent heard much of him. Ash Smith was the fastest white kid. How did that turn out. Paddy Brophy was impressive with the kicking skills believe it or not.

Ha Ha Ha, I'll have to introduce you to my son so he can confirm what I said about him.
You have to be able to football, when the pressure is on, that is the critical element.

Are you talking about Masten? He signed up prior to the start of 2016.
Thank you, that makes more sense. I got the impression he signed on mid year from an article I read around the Priddis extension and found it puzzling he was dropped straight after.

I have seen a bit of him at Claremont and U18. His point of difference is his pace. Smallish frame but he gets separation from the contest. His kicking is OK - improved during the carnival once he got the faster pace of the game.

Draft wise - I see him as a late pick or rookie.

Spot on that him in a nutshell.
If he was available for a late or rookie pick I would give him strong consideration ...... his pace and ball winning I like.

Oh, FFS Monocle, being stuck in this room with the mother in law, discussing footy, is bringing this thread to real life, in front of me.....
I can't effen escape......

I think the less you see of that face the better

Oh FFS Dark Sharks, it's bringing back flashbacks, and not in a good way! A bit like a certain number 43 from the Kangaroos in the 90s.....

Sumich was on trade radio yesterday and spoke about him as a bit of a draft smokey. Thought at his best he could become a player much like Gaff.

I wouldn't compare him to Gaff. Doesn't play anywhere near as wide, plays a much more direct brand of football, gets the ball closer to stoppages even if it's on the outside more often than not (not sure of the ratios) has a slightly stronger inside game and likes to run away from congestion with ball in hand unlike Gaff. His inside game has some actual room for improvement (he will probably add more weight than Gaff) and he likes to kick goals.

Not sure he said plays like or plays the position of Gaff. England may well end up as a winger as he has the ability to get separation from the contest but I do not see his skill set that similar to Gaff. Where Gaff is slow but steady and composed ball in hand when received from the inside, England is zippy and wins more of his own ball but needs to remember to get composed prior to kicking.

Standing vertical jump
Aiden Bonar 89cm
Kyron Hayden 82cm
Harrison Jones 79cm
Jordan Houlahan 77cm
Jordan Johnston 75cm

Running vertical jump
Kyron Hayden 103cm

I find this somewhat surprising. Kyron is a bit too heavy, has probably effected his relative endurance and speed.

Agree with this and I too like the way he attacks the goals.

Good kid to boot, he is well liked by his peers at Claremont and his Hale School cohort.
One of those kids who you just know, will give his all, to make the most of the opportunity if he gets a chance, on an AFL list.

I'm disappointed that Vozzo has come out and said that Gaff is not going to be traded. Whilst I get the argument that we shouldn't weaken the midfield further, he was our best shot at getting a better draft position this year.

Most posters have been saying that we should only trade him if he indicates that he doesn't want to be here long term and may explore free agency next year, so maybe he has said he has no interest in ever leaving the club so therefore we have no interest in trading him.

It will be interesting to see whether we hear from Rawlings (who is our list manager) over the next 2 weeks. Seems like he may well hold less power that with other clubs. Vozzo seems to be taking a leaf out of Nisbett's book - inability to empower and delegate.
