I got a feeling that if we are going for jake spencer is because lycett might get traded to port maybe for ah chee... they have lost trengrove and getting rid of lobbe

Lycett was chased by GWS before he signed his last contract . Mummy is done so I would prefer to deal with them .
Much rather we kept lycett

Mastens missus is 6 months preggers

Can’t see him agreeing to uproot and leave and will see his days out playing for EP
He'll play games next year for sure. Decision point will come at end of 2018 for him.

Is our whole trade/draft strategy to appease the wishes of Port Adelaide? Who cares who they're losing.

For WC? How many do you think?

Surely not more than 5, injuries permitting
Genuinely think he'll play at least half. Could play all. Lost confidence this year but he's not as broken as people think.

He's not the saviour, and he had a horrible run of form this year but I don't think he's as finished as others do.

Commence rants

A massive bold call and I hope you are right. If Masten is playing well it usually means everyone around him is doing the hard work and he is finishing it off.

I just wish more of our players would put their balls on the line like you just did.

I agree. I would be comfortable with Masten coming in and being a role player next year. In a way I hope he seeks a trade as I believe he can still provide a club with some good footy.

The latest is former Essendon champion Matthew Lloyd, who believes Fremantle ruckman Zac Clarke is a better player despite receiving just a a fraction of the pay and publicity.

“To see Clarke take his seven grabs last weekend and the way he gets around the ground, I don’t think he lacks anything that Naitanui has,’’ Lloyd said.

“For all the talk that goes with Naitanui, I think this guy (Clarke) is probably a better player at the moment and has huge growth in him.

“I can see Zac Clarke being the best ruckman in the competition in the coming years, whereas I couldn’t say that for Naitanui at the moment.

Scott Jones.

Already spent the last two years playing alongside Giles, Lycett etc. Big big body and from the Shane Mumford school of making opponents hurt. Can also take a grab and kick a snag, though his disposal overall is pretty, well, ruckmanlike.

Perfect rookie list candidate IMO.

Kids a nut case and doesn't have the skillset to make it.

I'd like to think this team has moved on from Marsden.

The new wave should be coming through now to replace him, Priddis and Mitchell. I'm talking Venables, Partington, Duggan, Nelson, Cole, our first pick.

So hopefully he will only be playing if our youngsters aren't cutting the mustard or someone is injured. If he's penciled in for round 1 i'll be furious.

We all know the problem will be him "training the house down" this preseason which will lock him in come round 1. I just think the game has moved on enough to justify not playing him (fast, high pressure tackling types). However, west coast won't pay attention to that as they will "play to their strengths" which translates to "slow tall plodders" I actually shouldn't be this pessimistic but it wouldn't surprise me

Exactly what will happen. Nothing new will happen next year unless they dont re sign wellingham and hill

Settle down lads.

Of course there will be changes at the club, the list change has been spoken about numerous times.

But depth is also important. Do I want to see the hill, ham and Masten in round 1? Not really. But if there is zero pressure coming from the kids beneath then what? We can’t field 19 players.

Lot lies on this trade/draft period, I for one a keen to see where we are.

I’ll save my salt for afterwards if nothing has indeed changed , I see little point in lamenting anything until such time.
