Surely if they thought he had value they would have already signed him to a contract? It's obvious they're just going to wait and see if they can fill his list spot and if not sign him up for one year to make up the numbers, then delist him next year. It mitigates the risk of taking someone they don't particularly want with pick 88 or whatever and having to sign him to two years and gives them an easy decision on who to dump next year. Not the way I'd go but it's probably the way the team is thinking.What? You think the club would sign a player to meet the floor? Why wouldn't they just pay a player they want around for a few years more this coming year and less the years after i.e. front ending i.e. moving cap space to another year i.e. being smart.
If they sign welllllllllinghammmmmm it will be because they think he has value. Not to meet the floor.
