We'd be pretty light on for kpd in the future though unfortunately. Emac and Schofield not too far off retirement meaning we'd have to start developing someone to complement Barrass.

I think we could pull the trigger on Sam Taylor in the second round, or Oscar Clavarino.

Any Intel about ameduri?

Ameduri, did quite well in the yoyo test, looks to have reasonable fitness,id say out of around 16 starters he finished 5th or 6th.Pace over 20m looks to be not quick but no slow,i think he did around between 2.9 and 3 secs for 20m sprint.

Strikes me as the kind of guy who will be a good solid player, without being a star. The 2 games I watched him at the 18s I thought he played pretty well.Wouldnt be against using a late pick on him or rookie list.

Matt Guelfi looks to have serious pace.

be just our luck that brander would slide to 13 or Allen to pick 31.....

You want Banfield while we've got guys on this board knocking Snaddens kicking. Ball magnet with zero hurt factor.

What role does Deluca play at AFL level? Not saying he's not an option but he's no AFL midfielder and hasn't produced the goods around goals.

I think we're all looking for consistent performance from Snadden. Banfield is consistent. Deluca has talent, I could see him developing ala Cripps as a goal kicker. At Freo he's behind a few for the opportunities there. Any 19-23 yo's at WAFL you think would add value?

Guelfi's game in the WAFL final round game last season was brilliant , had it all in skill , pace and can tackle well . Should be drafted probably not us as we take the unknowns .

In later picks in the draft WA has some good options , just hoping Port deal on AhChee doesn't cost too much because there are good options .

What do you think of Stanley Wright from East Perth? Id consider rookie listing maybe

Port have an moral obligation to trade Ah Chee. They have clearly communicated to him both via selection policy and verbally in one on one meetings with him (from what other posters are saying) that he is outside of their best 25 and that he is unlikely to play much AFL footy and have any kind of career there. If you tell somebody that you are not going to help them progress their career you can stomp your foot on the ground and refuse to let them leave to go somewhere else where there is a team who will invest in them. Stand firm on 4th round offer.

Went to the state combine earlier today to have a bit of a look.Dont know the times ran or heights jumped as they were being written down on bits of paper by staff.

A few things I can pass on were

1.Zac Langdon from Claremont won the yoyo test with a level 22.2,i think I heard an official say the record at the national combine was 22.4,so a pretty good effort.

2.Liam Ryan unsurprisingly looked to be doing well in the vertical jumps. But was eliminated early in the yoyo test, doesnt look to have much fitness/endurance.

At the the end,Hayden Schloithe was being interviewed by North,Liam Ryan by Richmond,Scott Jones by Sydney,Brandon Starcevich by Saint Kilda,Brayden Ainsworth by Dockers and we(Trevor Woodhouse and Brady Rawlings) were interviewing some guy from South Freo ive never heard of named Ryan Burrows.

Any South supporters know anything about him?
My god u telling me Woodhouse still in there, wow

Too short and no real points of difference suggest to me that he wouldn't come close to AFL-standard.

I find what is hapenning at the club at the moment very, very puzzling.

6 - 12 months ago Simpson was telling us we are in flag mode. Now, our performance this year was WAYYYYYY short of that lofty statement by Simpson and i think we can all agree that Simpson and co got that wrong. We are not in flag mode. Our midfield is not good enough.

So what is the club doing now and what is the thinking internally within the club. I assume from the fact that we are not attempting to get any more experienced players in and are no longer talking everything up that the powers that be are no longer trying to tool up for what they think will be another crack at a flag next year.

But neither are they really trying to move the list on, clear out the deadwood, create cap space for future acquisitions in the trade market, trade out tradeable players who won't be there when next flag window comes around for picks etc. What exactly are they doing down there and what is their plan and expectation for the next 3 years. The silence coming from the club is deafenning. I think they are probably in state of being dazed and confused and can't figure out what to do next. They need to get a plan together.

I will also say that i don't know much about the strengths and weaknesses of our assistant coaches and which ones are elite and which are not etc. But i find it concerning that two of our experinced assistants are leaving or have left after this season. It doesn't look good to me that we are bleeding out experienced assistant coaches and presumably replacing them with inexperienced assistant coaches. That looks like a net negative to me. It looks like rats jumping off a sinking ship. We have cash in the bank so we should be a destination club for quality assistant coaches and administrators, not a feeder club. But that isn't hapenning.

Come again? do you know how many retirements west coast have had and how much cap room that would have created

I feel Simpson feels pressured to steal a flag while Naitanui and Kennedy are at the club. My little theory about why they want to avoid a full rebuild.

Watched him have a stand out game against Swan Districts at leederville but looking at his stats for the season and size seems unlikely

What dead wood are you referring to? We've already had a bit of turnover with Hill, Wellingham and Lamb on the chopping block too. We have plenty of cap space atm. They have said we will be targetting the draft this year which suggests a rebuild.

Thanks bradee for the report.
