Talk is pick 13 for bombers two picks in the 20's so they can use 13 for stringer. Feel this is eastern states talk though. Why would west coast do this?

Pick 13 > 2x picks in the 20's.

If they are low twenties picks it could be okay , WCE might be able to get Kelly Ryan at least with the five picks in the top 50 and still get a few very good sliders in the low twenty picks ...risky though .

If 2 picks in the twenties is better than pick 13 why don't the Bulldogs take that deal?

As good as yours post Kennedy - Schloithe, I mean really?

Are your list managers that deluded to think the current crop is good enough to be in contention for the flag anytime soon?
Not really relevant considering Kennedy is still playing. I think we'll be right though seeing as Darling only scored a few goals less than your two guns, McCarthy and Kersten, combined.

on the two picks in the 20's for pick 13.

has anybody seen a statistical analysis of the relative value?

Not AFL spin and points where as a FA Buddy is equal to Motlop, but some sort of real analysis. Could the club be ahead of the game?

I'd do 13 for 19 + 22 from GC.
Going back to 2011.

2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 - pick 13 has been better than picks 19 and 22 combined.

2015 - is open to discussion as to whether you like Matt Kennedy or Ryan burton (pick 19) better.

Do not trade down unless you're getting lots of value.

Port trade dude mentioned they spoke to WC last night so lets hope the deal comes through soon!
The Port List Manager sounded like he was still trying to sell up the value of The Sneezer. Crapped on how important he is with their indigenous programme and how Port midfield was so lucky with injury and that ......

Port have been flat out trying to do the Rocky/Motlop/Watts deals. I expect the selling job with Young and Ah Chee to get more momentum today and I would think a 5th rounder is about right. The can expect more for Young because Suns are keener and Young is closer to their best 22.

In this year's draft I see about a dozen midfielders who would be very likely to improve our side. They'll all be gone by the mid-20s, along with the half-dozen most promising talls. Some rankings have players like Worpel and Petruccelle falling in that range, but it's a risk. I like pick 13.

The draft this year is pretty even from 10-25. Getting two of those rated players is better than one. Only risk is a 5-10 sliding.

Feel like that's said every year but it's never really the case.

If you want more B graders than sure do the trade. If you want the chance of an a grader you have to keep 13. Last few years 13 has given up venables (looking very promising), m Kennedy, lachie weller, p cripps, Jesse lonergan, Taylor Adams.

Would be very happy with any of those level players(bar lonergan)

Assume we go from 13 to 19.
Meaning we lose access to players from 13-18 (6 players), this is the likely talent we miss.

2011:
Taylor Adams, Devon Smith, Brandon Ellis, Tom Sheridan, Clay Smith, Brad McKenzie

2012:
Jesse Lonergan, Aidan Corr, Taylor Garner, Jackson Thurlow, Josh Simpson, Brodie Grundy

2013:
Patrick Cripps, Cam McCarthy, Zac Jones, Darcy Lang, Michael Apeness, Luke Dunstan

2014:
Lachie Weller, Jake Lever, Jarrod Gartlett, Sam Durdin, Kyle Langford, Issac Heeney (academy)/Blane Boekhorst

2015:
Mathew Kennedy, Eric Hipwood, Daniel Rioli, Harrison Himmelberg, Tom Doadee, Jade Gresham

So I've highlighted players who would be a pretty big loss if we downgraded.
9 of 30 players. (30%)
Some of them are excellent players though, so you do miss that potential for top end talent.

So you could say with those two picks we're likely to take players who settle around picks 19 - 25.
So are two players from the below list better than 1 from the above?

2011:
Elliot Kavanagh, Hayden Crozier, Tom Mitchell (F/S), Brad Bootsma, Murray Newman, Henry Shade, Seb Ross

2012:
Ben Kennedy, Tim Broomhead, Nathan Hrovat, Dean Towers, Marco Paperone, Nathan Wright, Spencer White

2013:
Blake Acres, Jack Leslie, Jarman Impey, Darcy Gardner, Matt Crouch, Billy Hartung, Daniel McStay, (Zach Merret @ 26)

2014:
Jayden Laverde, Hugh Goddard, Daniel McKenzie, Pat McKenna, Jack Steele, Daniel Nielson, Toby McLean

2015:
Ryan Burton, Brayden Fiorini, Ben McKay, Kieran Lovell, David Cunningham, Ben Keays, Josh Dunkley

So from the list of 35 players I'd say 7 are high quality or looking like good prospects.
Drops to 20% chance, but obviously getting two bites at the cherry.

You'd be laughing if it was 2013 and you nailed the picks, but it's really unlikely.

Obviously this is a very limited view, but it seems that pick of 13 gives you a better chance of getting top end talent.

Bit of sneaky play here from the Afl to keep GC relevant? Listening to trade radio they say his family are in Melbourne and he was only in Gold Coast for a few years. Not exactly like their list is in a dream state either. Seems a little strange that anyone would specifically nominate them when Brisbane might be on the way up in the next few years. Few little deals on the side perhaps?
Gotta get Nathan W to Freo somehow...
