Thoughts

On SM-G900I using BigFooty.com mobile app
Ricky Nixon and some blarg rumour page on FB are pretty laughable sources there.

BOOOOOOO!

Must keep 13.

If we want another 2nd rounder trade next years for this years and swap 3rds.

13 this year will land a quality mid who has slid. Clarke or Brayshaw. Kelly and Ryan are early to mid 3rd rounders FFS.

“Quality” is such an overused term. Like “quality” used car yards that sell 15 year old commodores which are “quality”.

In saying that, not sure if sliding is a good idea or not, but using 70% of picks on West Australian players, who only make up 10% of all players would be out of step with drafting “quality”.

Personally I don't hate the idea of us trading down for extra picks, would need to be more then 25 and 28 tho. If 20 and one of those picks are involved tho then it sounds very juicy.

Why exactly would Brisbane throw 20 in btw ?

As stated earlier, points are only relevant if you need to use points ala F/S or an Academy player. Otherwise getting the best kid is the best option.
I really disagree. By your logic having pick 1 is better than having pick 2+3+4+5.
Pick 1 might be the best player, but there's WAY more value in the second option

Bulldogs are desperate now- they know just as well as anyone that Stringer won't be there next year and the "oh but he's contracted" line which would normally hold leverage hasn't worked.

I can understand the rationale for us trying to get more picks in the top 50- it isn't the strongest draft but does seem evenish across the first few rounds.

If the offer was 20 & 25 I would consider it, but not late 20's picks. I'd be having a chat to Geelong to see if we can get that pick 19, personally.

Happy to trade down.
Anything outside of the top 5 or 7 picks is generally a raffle anyway.
Anyone thinking pick 13 is a lock for an elite midfielder is kidding themselves. Even a B+ is not guaranteed.
May as well trade down and have 2 spins of the roullete wheel instead of 1.
2 picks between 20-25 would be a GREAT result.

We traded pick 5 to the pies for 11 which was used on sheed. I cant recall what the other pic we received from the pies.

If we give up 13 i would want 2 picks in the region of 18 to 25.
The thing s though going by memory Sheed was pretty well guaranteed to come to us, which is what happened as we wanted Sheed! It was well known I think that Collingwood & others had their sights on different players so we were safe taking that risk.

Cornes and Lloyd are up and about this morning on trade radio. Frothing about the trading their clubs have done so far.

I'd rather the club just continuously stockpile draft points in future drafts, year after year, rather than actually drafting.
That's a great idea. It would throw the competition off their drafting game, totally. Given that we may not even have a home ground next year and beyond, it is just the strategy we need.
