Well if you go by the team that played in the last final.

Out/In

Priddis - Ah chee
Mitchell - Venables
Petrie - NN
Vardy - Lycett - Depends who is fitter of the two
Wellingham - Cole
McKenzie - Nelson ( think we will go smaller in the backline)
Lecra - Rioli ( Think Leca will be depth this year)

That is 5 young players in and one gun so it isn't as hard as you make it out to be.
Think Hutchings will struggle to keep his spot too.

No.

We went 9-3 at subi this year. Don't see why we won't go similar. Then it's a case of picking up a few wins away from home. Given how bad lions, gc, north, Hawks and Carlton are going to be, imagine we can get the wins to get to 12 wins again. Could easily go higher.

Our floor isn't very low (when we have an average team) thanks to home ground advantage.

I wonder if that home ground advantage will change any at the new stadium?

Slightly shorter ground and wider......but we will have more crowd affirmation.:D

And that's a good thing because if that's the case then we have both improved and developed our list .

Really? He is only 26 and has been ultra consistent , no star but he is really underated in what he does.

Cripps has been rubbish since his ankle injury and Jetta and Leccra meh

I really like Shep mate but what you see is what you get. He makes some pretty big mistakes often and his tackling is pretty average. He is what he is and won’t get any better.
Cripps was average before his ankle.

If we get pick 9 involved I'm keen. Even if we trade out next years pick. Live in the now. Worry about next season next season.

Those deals that were flying around last night involving WB Pick 9 would be the way to go ..

Bombers come out of this all sweet with those deals... two second rounders for Stringer is a bargin.

WC come out of it good only if we are out of the second round next year..

Just listened to Traderadio. Travis King was on talking WA teams. He said the talk this morning is that the eagles are willing to lose pick 13 and Next year's 1st rounder for Picks 9, 25, 28 & 30 this year. Say that we rate this year's Draft higher thank next years

Depends how much the club thinks it's going to suck next season.

New stadium is an unknown, but generally if Nicnat is back and with the couple of A graders we have it's probably a 7-12th finish on the ladder again.

Whilst i don't think we're going to be very good, i doubt we'll bottom out with some of the older class we have (Gov, Kennedy, Nicnat)

Now that's a trade I'm on board with.
We need extra picks for turnover and we are better off starting a rebuild this year than next. In essence we are trading our first rounder next year for a four pick upgrade this year, and picks 25, 28 and 30. That's a no brainer for us if true.

Also if we lose Gaff next year we get back a first rounder...

What i worry about missing next years first rounder and loading up on mature players this year IE Kelly, Ryan and Scholite is that we will miss out on some youth for a few years.

If we trade the 2018 first we will have four or five picks in this drafts top 30.

Id suggest only one of those picks will be used on a mature age recruit.

Well that's a bold strategy - having a contrary opinion compared to Champion Data and a whole lot of recruiters and scouts. 2018 second rounder, yes, 2018 first rounder - im dubious.

Assuming that we finish 10th next year:
13 + 9 (2681 pts) for 9 + 25 + 28 + 30 (3531 pts)

Stacks well. However this is relative to our finish position obviously.

Trade radio. Not sure why I bother. We are going backwards next year because our best players in the finals were Priddis, Mitchell and Petrie and they are gone and we've only added Ah Che, but can't work see where improvement would come from.

They are so Vic centric is unbelievable.

Nothing funnier than Thompson saying Gold Coast need to trade pick 2 to land Weller “because the fans need hope”. They treat those Queensland clubs like cows.

Plus we still keep Pick 32 as well .

Yeah would actually prefer to trade 2019 1 st rd Pick instead of 2018 future pick .

More wishful thinking from the Vics. Next years first rounder wouldn’t be included.

West coast aren’t going to gable on finishing high next year. Maybe we’d give up our second round next year to secure a jump to 9 from 13 and an extra second round pick this year.

It doesn’t math out properly for that to be the case. We’d be shafting ourselves.

Yeah I doubt Weller will give them that hope. They will get more hope from whoever they select at pick 2.

However I think that dockers maybe want to keep Weller in hope his value goes up next year despite out of contract and then get ah chee.

The more I look at what freo are doing the more I think their no1 goal is to only beat us at everything for the sake of beating us. Girls team, stadium first game, Bennell in particular, reckon ah chee too and every other West Australian out of contract.

Cripps was average before his ankle.

its been a tough year for our backline ,with our midfield the way it was and the high opposition forward entries ,yes he made mistakes but wasnt on his own hopefully next year things will change

Can anyone actually confirm if we can trade our 1st pick next year? I thought you could trade a future 1st OR future later round picks. But if you trade a future 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc you can't then trade your future 1st. Does the pick swap for Ah Chee count as trading our future 3rd?

Is any of that correct? Does anyone know? I suspect the AFL hasn't actually defined a lot of this and it may all be a bit of working it out on the go.
