Second rounder for Gov jnr. I would rather send him to the draft im sure Carlton, Brisbane or pretty much any team would grab him especially freo.
First rounder. You can't financially value a player at $600-$700k and not trade value him as pick in the 30s
Bradly Hill has showed more than Gov Jnr. What did he get the Hawks?

What did the Eagles get for Ebert?

If the Crows want to get nothing then a front loaded $1m in the first year contract will do the job.

Eagles trade fair but dont expect overs.

I think we're on the same page. We have players capable of run and carry but they're not in top form at the moment.

That changes though, so I wouldn't be suggesting we have no running half backs.

Having said that, I'm all for getting JJ but strongly doubt he's actually interested and that the price would be right.
If you haven't had sex with your mrs for two years, do you stay in the relationship hoping those blissful orgasms will come again or do you divorce and upgrade to the younger sexier thang?

I think people are massively underrating the positive impact JJ would have on our side. He is an AA quality player with Pace and rebound that we lack. Could mean Yeo can play more midfield time so it's almost like we are getting a mid. He is a long term player with 5-7 years left. I think there's definitely potential to rotate him on a wing or up forward too. Bring the WA boy home!

He'd become a scapegoat pretty quickly on here... his disposal by foot is questionable in my opinion and if he gets an inflated contract to come over would be an easy target.

I checked afl.com and DE reads as 75-77% for 16-17, so that kind of goes against my argument, but may relate to his long kicking?

When I've seen him play a few balls end up going back over his head.

Matera was on the verge of being put in the trash can and booted off their list at the end of last season, he did very well to survive the cut. And we did very poorly to not want to secure his services last trade period when his value was at it's absolute minimum.

Unfortunately for us, he pulled a purple patch of form out of his ass earlier this season and despite not hitting those heights in the last few rounds he's still been solid for a small forward.

I still wouldn't pay anything other than a 3rd rounder for him. There's something about overpaying for a product you've originally passed on which just annoys me.

You only become a scapegoat if you're weak as piss. Him bringing the footy in quick and fast would be awesome. A few of our mids i50's go back over their head, the only difference is they don't carry the ball 50m first.

Any idea how long his contract is?

I think he's a decent disposer. When he's running flat out some times he can be prone to the occasional grubber.

If that's the case then I would think that Priddis, Jack, Masten, Hill and Gaff would willing give up $50k pa each to put towards his salary just to take some heat off themselves!

It can cost you a house though

Fido went on a bring Brandon home rant while being interviewed at half time by Langdon at the GWS game. It was all a bit odd.

Boom. So say he 'nominates' to come home, surely we have the upper hand on the trade table.

GCS do have a gun small forward in Ainsworth up their sleeve, and we do have history with them for win win trades (Rosa for #31)

3rd Rounder isn't exactly crazy. Although if he goes on with his form and ends up booting 40 goals this year it won't happen.

Pick 48... which in an even draft for a 18 team comp should be a mid 3rd rounder. I doubt his value has pushed him to first round level. Honestly, it would be nice to do a player swap, and maybe downgrade one of our picks. It seems very rare that we develop a player that is surplus to our needs that another team covets. Strangely Sinclair is the only one I can think of in recent times, and using that resource has hardly netted us big gains.
Matt Rosa

Rosa dropped his bundle and requested a trade after being the sub in the 2015 grandy. IMO that wasn't the club dealing from a position of strength.

Justifiably so IMO. He was one of our best vs the Hawks just a few weeks prior. I am sure he would have offered more than Masten coming in from recent injury (IIRC)

I do wonder if the Rosa bust up had more of an impact than we credit on the pathetic performances we have served up regularly since the GF. We certainly played a much stronger brand of footy in 2015 in terms of team commitment and camaraderie.

Spme good midfield options in this draft and the key is holding or upgrading our first rd pick . The highly rated KPF are falling down the draft ladder so a good KPF may be available with our 2 nd rd pick ..

Harder at it as well. You might be onto something. Another Masten conspiracy, Dark Sharks will love it.

In all reality, West Coast List Management in prior years has been pretty tight lipped. Both Wellers and Redden were discussed in the build up to trading week and not 4 months before.

When have we let it slip that we were seriously into player X or Y so early in a season?

I think Jetta was on the cards for a while but that's really the only one I can think of.

With the exception of Sheed, we've been this way toward the draft as well.

Although granted we haven't had a particularly high pick for a while.

Hawks finished in the top 8 last year but still managed to get the picks required to bring in 2 A grade midfielders, we just aren't trying hard enough we could have upgraded our 1st pick and had a shot at a top 10 mid in the draft in any one of the last couple of drafts. Gws did what they had to last year as well.
