Happy with this. I'm hoping we just take the scatter gun approach at midfielders. No flankers or anything else, take 5 shots at mids and pray like hell that a few of them turn out to be good players.

Oh wow - my initial read of the trade didn't include their second rounder next year - and I was a little (actually a lot) iffy on the trade

However - given their second rounder next year (likely early 20's) - that' a rocking deal especially as we have off loaded a lot of players this year. Those additional picks mean we may move hill or wellingham on.

Now that our draft picks have likely been finalized and we know what we're going in with, i'd love to see what AsterixTheGaul and Monocle now consider realistic options for all our new picks.

Looks like Starcevich (maybe still reaching with 37), Kelly, Petrucelle, Warpol could still be under consideration.

Dark Sharks - will do. I see a chance to take some risks and be ready to pounce if they fall through.

Examples -
1. If all the top inside mids that we want are gone at 13, then we may pull the trigger on Naughton or Brander
2. Aidan Bonar may slide through to 21 and I would pull the trigger here
3. If we get Constable at 13, Oscar Allen at 21 would be handy
4. The cluster of picks means we can go a Spargo or Moore or L Fogarty or Worpel

I will get with Monocle and see what we might look at - will delay over thinking it until end of trade today

BTW I believe 37 for Starcevich is a reach

On points, barring us finishing bottom 2 and them making finals, it is a big win. Though early picks have more value just in terms if access.

Watson moved from cat b to cat a rookie

So as it stands 3 senior list spots and one rookie spot available before delistings

Wellingham, Hill, Lamb, Snadden and Gorter all without a contract

We have 5 picks in the top 37 so sayonara to hill and Wellingham with Lamb likely to be kept on if he isn't traded in the next hour or so

Means we'll be finished in the draft at 37 with only one rookie spot unless we cut gorter and/or snadden

Oh and Brophy leaving gives us another cat b spot
