Hill is also a bit of a whipping boy on this board . He would have much more impact if we got a decent supply of inside 50s .Le cras and Hill are getting on and we need quality replacements. Happy to use a 2nd rounder on Mitch.
We must however retain our first and go for the toughest mid with pace and skills we can.
If we somehow get a 2nd rounder back via trade or FA compo great.
Gaff seems to be cooked and carrying something. I can't recall Gaff in the last two years backing out of contests, giving up chases and just show general tiredness. Gaff at 100% fitness runs hard all day without looking like it, goes when its his turn and chases to his best ability. Thanks Monocle, appreciate your thoughts. I disagree with you on points 2 and 3, I think Gaff does get plenty of cheap possies through defence and does avoid physical contact, at least at times. And I don't think Masten avoids physical contact at all costs. But possibly moreso than Gaff.
At the end of the day I'd rather have Gaff in the team. However, I think we'd be better off with Masten and another first round pick as opposed to Gaff in the 22 and Masten playing for EP.

He has time on his side . I would like to give him another year and give him a few more games of afl .Any chance Lamb makes it? If so, do we need MM?

even then he was looking less cooked and still went when it was need. I still recall he went for a mark running back in his return game.He hasn't been the same since the hit by that dog Jonas.
He has had a few good games but not playing at consistency.Gaff had a good game a fortnight ago v Bulldogs in Melb had 42 disposals ..
From memory it wasn't his greatest game. Disposal efficiency was relatively low. He picked it up last week against port.Gaff had a good game a fortnight ago v Bulldogs in Melb had 42 disposals ..
McGovern wasn't a super high pick either (43) and was already 20 years old when drafted. An age that neither Allen or Waterman have reached - Allen turns 20 in October which is a full 3 years younger than Gov JnrDunno if Allen or Waterman are going to be as good as Mitch McGov, don't know where this blind faith in them are coming from when neither were very high picks nor have played at a level anything near what mini-G is playing at at AFL level no less
Or SydneyWaterman has better genes ......... none of that lavender muck!
Does Waterman have scope to play midfield in a Stringer type burst role or he has always played forward due to his height? If he has a touch of his brothers inside ability I'd be stoked, particularly whilst JD is holding down 2nd/3rd tall position.

I have this relatively baseless hope that Allen could end up as a mid.
I'm basing it on like 2 highlights from a youtube clip just before he got injured, so it'll probably come to nothing but I hope nonetheless.
Remember him getting some big possession numbers at Colts or seniors. Best case scenario is that he has or is still growing and can be tall enough to be a kpf.Does Waterman have scope to play midfield in a Stringer type burst role or he has always played forward due to his height? I'm hoping that Barrass can be that big inside mid that we need ..
Fair point. You have to wonder why the "professionals" at all 18 clubs overlooked Ryan. Either they're all incompetent or they all see/know something.
