If we didn't trade Sinclair we wouldn't have traded for Vardy. I don't think there is much difference between Vardy and Sinclair in terms of immediate output, so in effect the question we need to ask is whether we would have got a better player than Jetta for pick 72 in last years trade/draft period. I don't think we would have personally.

I watched the replay of the east perth game, and kept a close eye on the Dug. I didn't think he was too bad, and whilst he might have overused the handball a little like the rest of the team, I think he was definitely one of the cleaner users and his handpasses were amongst our most creative. He also seemed to do a lot of unrewarded running and wasn't used as much as he could have been. I actually think he'd perform better at AFL level than he is in the WAFL, where his teammates would have better vision, and a better ability to get the ball into his hands.

What i liked was when a few of the players were being roughed up by the opposition ( one was Lamb and the other a non wce player)he would be the first in there.

Feels like we should be targeting a KPF/Ruck in this years draft. Great year for talls though many of the top end are academy bound.

Names to look out for as KPF/Ruck
Academy - three names stick out - all seem 195 cm plus already and all look likely 1st rounders
- Jarrod Brander (GWS) Connor Ballenden (Bris) and Brayden Crossley (GC)

Non Academy
Seems like Darcy Fogarty is burning it up but is more the Stringer mould than KPF (last I knew he was 190 cm)
Others - most are nearing 200 cm and probably still grow\ing
Sam Hayes (Eastern Rangers) Callum Coleman-Jones (Sturt) Hayden McLean (Sandringham Dragons)

There are a few options (a number of KPD which we do not need) and hence we will need to decide do we trade up to get a Sam Hayes or stay put and go a Hayden McLean.

Worthwhile keeping your eyes on them in TAC, SANFL Colts and U18.

Dug followed Mitchell around in pre-season like a little puppy dug.
If Mitch imparts his knowledge onto him and he laps it up and learns from what is on offer I am sure he will become a very good player for us.
I personally think he will get a bit of a crack at this year and get us a little excited.

I think the Giants have lost access to Brander with the changes to their zones this year.

I personally think we should throw the kitchen sink at dusty Martin, exactly the type of player we need n if we managed to snag him n Mitchell stays on for another year (and is still playing like he has been) then we would arguably have the best midfield in the comp with Nic Nat giving them silver service all day long streaming into a out forward line,we would almost be unstoppable

C - Gaff Priddis Jetta
R - Natanui Mitchell shuey
HF Martin Darling Yeo
Inter Sheed Reeden Masten

Who's midfield/midfield rotation can beat that??

Supposedly a pretty much done deal with Adelaide, we won't get him.

I think we should start every season with 10 afl level rucks. Just in case...

I'll be happy with one fit one.............especially when the first two a rooted, we knew they were rooted and we didn't go and draft another genuine ruckman.

Preuss at Norths is doing well, pick 15 in the 2015 rookie draft age 22 and 206 cm. Ex rugby and late convert.

Yep, rookie listing a genuine ruck in their early 20's to develop and provide some insurance. A young 200+ cm ruck to play with our other young developing mids in the WAFL, to learn the game plan together and build a bit of chemistry over time with both the best 22 mids at training and youngsters in the WAFL.

What a stupid idea especially with Cox as a coach. Instead we have McInness at 197cm leading the ruck in the WAFL.

Darcy Cameron was overlooked in how many drafts? We couldn't use one rookie spot on a 200+ cm true ruck?

The Eagles list managers have seriously run a root on this and it just may well cost us a top four spot and a shot at a flag in 2017.

Sorry to interrupt, Preuss was drafted out of the GC academy and moved to AFL when he was about 17, not quite the Mike Pyke story the media is running with. He's actually 21 still, we drafted him as a 19 year old.

We went into this season with Naitanui, Lycett, Giles, Vardy, Petrie and McInnes on the list. You'd expect that to be enough, really. All but NicNat were set to be ready round 1. Lycett did his shoulder in the WAFL, Giles busted a thumb during pre season and Petrie broke his hand. It's a series of unfortunate events. Anyway, if you're not getting the silver service from an A-grade ruckman then all you really need is someone who'll compete. Bulldogs won four finals with essentially two pinch hitters in Roughead and Boyd.

It's hard to make an argument that we should have added an extra ruckman in previous drafts when we had two guns in their mid 20s both on long term deals. Cameron would be nice in hindsight but it's not as though he was a must-get - every other club overlooked him and some of them had a much more pressing need for a ruckman than us.

Do you think we should draft a young ruckman this coming draft ? , Lycett is so injury prone played 50 games probably in five seasons and the injuries will reoccur unless he gets super fit and starts doing yoga everyday like SPP does !!
