Matera's last 2 games have been top notch. Watch this space?
Literally plug and play replacement of LeCras
I would say it isI reckon our needs in priority order are:
KPF
Inside Mids
Rucks

Yeah he has definitely improved. Didn't think he had it in him.Matera's last 2 games have been top notch. Watch this space?

Yes i do but 1 small fwd in the last 10 years is not enough and Rioli hasn't proven him self yet.You don't consider Rioli a genuine small forward?
Really wouldn't mind targeting Matera if he can continue this form. A consistent matera will add so much value to our side. Guys is a great crumbing forward but would add speed to a wing on a wing or hff. Also he would probably the most likely groper we could land.
Seems to be quicker than our small. Then again he could be a type that receives the ball while at full pace and it makes him ultra quick. But definitely should be someone we look at if he can have a good year. One thing Matera isn't quick at all but has very good agility, and a natural crumber of the footy.
Apparantly according to Rocket pulled his finger out and got his off field issues sorted and is playing great footy again.

Matera is 25 and has never been a consistent footballer. He's not the answerIf he's playing good footy this year he would cost more than he's worth to us.
Pass.
Who to trade tho? McKenzie or Schofield ,one of them.won't be at the club next yearMatera is 25 and has never been a consistent footballer. He's not the answer
We have an aging list and need to be focusing on building through the draft. I like what we did last year by keeping our draft picks and used little currency to bring in experienced players to fill specific roles
I'd be happy with a repeat of that with the addition of a more rigorous exploration of adding draft picks or improving draft position by trading out one or two players

Has vardy or Giles shown enough to make lycett traceable?
If McGovern goes forward more is darling going to be talked about again come trade time?

Yes I understand that but if we let him walk through FA then we may get more than in a tradeOh boy it's gonna be a long year having to read posts like "trade Mackenzie" over and over again when he is a FREE AGENT and does not need to be traded.
Just like last year with Mitch Brown.
Emac's trade value peaked last year IMO. Schofield would be a 2nd rounder at best. If we resigned Emac it would be significantly cheaper than now. I guess we'll know more about Vardy and Giles at mid season; Vardy is better around the ground but Giles is a better tap ruckman. If Vardy picks up his ruck skills and starts to live up to his potential then we might be laughing, although given his injury history we'd be courageous relying on him retaining full fitness.Who to trade tho? He can still be traded though because he's a restricted free agent, like Dangerfield was.Oh boy it's gonna be a long year having to read posts like "trade Mackenzie" over and over again when he is a FREE AGENT and does not need to be traded.

We've got waterman and Allen coming through and I'm guessing our first rounder this year will be a kpf but yes I agree trading darling would be a ballsy move.Emac's trade value peaked last year IMO. If Gov goes forward then we keep Darling. Trading Darling out then having Kennedy retire leaves us short a KPF/third tall.
I don't think that's a realistic scenario with Mackenzie. He can still be traded though because he's a restricted free agent, like Dangerfield was.
Could be many reasons for wanting to trade with us though depending on what comes back. They may want to trade a player back to us to open up enough salary cap to fit Mackenzie in. Might be part of a larger trade involving multiple players/picks or even teams.I don't think that's a realistic scenario with Mackenzie.
I can't see Mackenzie telling the club that he wants to move on for more game time and then West Coast saying nah bugger ya, we are going to match the offer and continue to play you in the WAFL.
