Still think duggan will come good, technically he is slightly more consistent so far this year... (looking for positives) still very young.

I agree i mean not all players look like guns early on. He showed he can do it in 2015 and now he just needs to mature but we also need him to spend more minutes in the center and not on a flank.

Don't agree with that, he is (2015 model) a good kick and spreads well so don't really expect him to be dishing out hard ball gets in the guts like Sheed. Doesn't seem quite fit enough at the moment to get to the contest every time also.

Even at his best, that's overs.

To many JJs Norm Smith seemed fortunate . His disposal in GF was awful , often directly hit a Swanee.

Duggan is certainly not a first round pick anymore... So it would be a first round pick and a downgrade to a second next year. Need to be realistic as to what carlton would want. Cripps projects as the best contested mid for the next ten years.

In 2013 we took Sheed over Cripps. If we did the trade you suggested then our recruiters are basically admitting that they have monumentally ****** up not only the 2013 draft but 2014 draft (our first rounder that year is steak knives in trade where we are giving away two other first round picks) too. In any case what you suggested is a lot to give up for a player who is very limited in some aspects. FWIW I think Sheed will be better than Cripps.

Have a look at the following list which shows what we have done with our first round picks since 2011 ( assuming we did the trade you suggested).

2011 Newman (no longer at the club)
2012 traded for Wellingham (29 next month)
2013 Sheed
2014 Duggan (traded for Cripps)
2015 traded for Redden (not best 22 based on past performances as an Eagle)
2016 Vennables
2017 traded for Cripps
2018 traded for Cripps

Potentially we could have had 8 best 22 players (all below 25 years) at the start of 2019 season but as it turns out we may only have two (Sheed and Cripps - may be three if Vennables stays beyond next year). If people think that this type of drafting or trading is not going to create a huge imbalance in player ages and hamper team performance down the track then they are only kidding themselves.

Plus Gaff's an AA quality winger, I'm pretty sure Cripps alone wouldn't compensate for the loss of him and a first round pick.

Rosa was better at it than both Masten and Gaff. Was a good mark and played tough. Couldn't kick though So who is the player we should be going after ? Kelly would be great, but he isn't coming West nor is Martin. That is why we have to focus on WA boys, unfortunately.

We do need Cripps,our entire midfield needs a reboot.once priddis and Mitchell go we dont have anyone who can fill the void.I dont think sheed is that guy.yes we also need outside players too
