Possibly but durability has to be a concern not just with Vardy but also Naitanui

Yeh that's true, but when you look at Lycett's career he's been pretty injury prone as well. To my mind if Vardy can keep up this sort of form I believe he offers as much as Lycett and I'm really against the idea of having a starting caliber ruck in the WAFL unless they're young and still developing.
Agree with you on Petrie/Giles, I was against Petrie from the start but he certainly offers more than Giles at this point so if I had to choose one or the other it'd be Drew

I suggested this last week as well.
Just like we had in 2015, and currently with KPD's, we have an extra quality ruck.
Lycett trade would be ideal moving forward imo, unfortunately his value isn't great currently.

All I did was pose the question. It's a discussion forum FFS and if you don't want to read discussion involving trades/drafts then maybe you should avoid this thread.
Which is a better use of assets, one of Lycett or Vardy spending next year in the WAFL, or using one of them to improve our midfield?

I must have missed your post but I agree with you, I've long been an advocate for turning the extra ruck into another player, you may remember my Sinclair posts
And I wish we'd turned one of our KPD's into something last year as well, seems like we'll potentially lose 1 or 2 for virtually nothing at the end of the season anyway.

Brandon Matera would be a good get, finally starting to show his talent....but if his name was Brandon Smith I doubt anybody would be looking his way...

Lycett's trade value might be pretty low given his knjury concerns, remember we picked up a damaged Vardy for nothing - 72, a fourth rounder. While Lycett is a better talent he probably isn't a straight swap for Gov Jnr right now, but then again he may hit form and things will seem very different in October.
Lycett for mcgovern is just stupid IMO, lycett fully fit and in form is worth more than a relatively unproven 3rd tall, especially when we could get him for cheaper if he wants to come home and is out of contract.
If we were going to trade Lycett it should be for a quality young mid, or something that could land us one.
