Nah your thinking of Reese ..Is it pronounced that way because he's a bogan?
It's interesting - apparently the AFL advised clubs that the increase was likely to be around 10% so I wonder how many clubs would have put the uplift for the CBA increase into contracts had they been aware it was going to be as much as 20%. Especially when you consider that in negotiations the 10% would have been factored into their decision making - so if they were offering a player say $400k they'd be thinking it's going to really be more like $440K once the CBA is signed off, that's now become $480kFurther to Keys above
You can download the podcast, but essentially the three clubs mentioned have a larger majority of players on contracts that did not make a provision for the CBA, i.e. we have more money to play with. The majority of others clubs players are getting an increase of 20% immediately as they had conditions in their contracts, and hence have already "spent" the 20% increase.

I heard he was a west coast supporter as a kid? Could be off the mark though, where'd you hear that?Unfortunately Cripps was a huge WA-based Carlton fan, would be hard to get him to come home.

There's thread on the rumours board about him wanting to come back to WA at the end of the yearUnfortunately Cripps was a huge WA-based Carlton fan, would be hard to get him to come home.

Jones would be a massive win. Has everything we need. It's going to be very difficult to pry an out and out champion midfield West with a big money lure .
More realisticly we should be targeting emerging players who's stars are on the rise .
Zac Jones of the Swans fits that brief.
Will be 23 next year , out of contract at seasons end . He had a break out year last year and emerged as a real attacking hard arsed midfielder and the massive bonus is that he has genuine speed and uses it cleverly.
We need to be more strategic on who we try to entice to our Club.
IMO Jones would add a lot more to the side than McGovern ( junior ) or JJ. Not saying that the two fore mentioned are bad players more that Jones addresses an area of critical shortfall where as the other dont. Also like Gregson from the Cats.
One from our own backyard : Haiden Schloith from South Fremantle, he has a few tools to his game that we are short on.
He was a bit of a hot head and a campaigner early in his career ( spent to much time running around snotting opposition players ) but he seems to have matured these last two seasons. His recent state games was also of a high standard.
I would be happy with him on our rookie list as his body of work these last few seasons has been worthy of a second chance at AFL. Thoughts ????
Would prefer Tim Kelly over Schloithe - seen him a couple of times for Souths this year and he's still a bit of a shithead and a serial duckerIt's going to be very difficult to pry an out and out champion midfield West with a big money lure .

I've got vague memories of him attending a West Coast v Carlton game in 2012, certainly wasn't supporting the Eagles. There's a possibility he was just being a consummate professional in his draft year.I heard he was a west coast supporter as a kid? Could be off the mark though, where'd you hear that?
We should target Mitch Duncan.
absolutely. convince him to come home.
Hopefully Sheed
You hope that, but if I were a betting man, and I'm not, my money would be on BOTH LeCras and Mackenzie.Hopefully Sheed
Nelson is off-contract too - maybe it'll be a package deal? Not sure Shred counts as "big contract news" on his own.
Anyone know when Jetta/Redden come out of contract?
