Was massive on getting JJ a few months back and his attitude to over last month has been a huge turn off. We need more people with attitude and mongrel and not the shy and timid type. Duggan and Cole have both shown mongrel and that would be dissaponting to see us part ways with them.
JJ would give us the outside speed we need and we have precious few players prepared to run and carry the ball. So in that respect he'd be an asset

However his kicking is erratic and as we've seen in recent weeks he's relatively soft - two traits that we have more than we'd like in the current playing group already

He'd be handy due to his pace but given his flaws the asking price both in dollars and trading chips is likely to be too high. $500k and a third rounder go for it but I very much doubt that would get it done

To me JJ feels like another Jetta or redden case. He will either fail or never reach the lofty standards he once set. That's due to his weak mindset. Im not willing to give a lot for a player like him to be honest.

He is just a flashier Wellingham.

If Allen is to grow to 194cm+ He should be a priority to draft . We need a genuine KPF for when kennedy retires . WA captain and won the larke medal is the under 18 champs consistently kicking bags of goals .

JJ seems like a trade that isn't very good value . He wants big $ dogs want a high pick and he has shown he is too easly tagged out of the game .

We have rotham who will hopefully be that grant birchell type rangy running defender + nelson who has already shown rebound ability at afl level .

JJ would cost big $$ plus multiple picks. He has pace and skill but not hardness. Looking at what pick we will likely have and what we need this chap fits the bill.

POS: Half-back/midfielder, Ht 186cm, Wt 79kg, DOB 26/3/1999
From Dandenong Stingrays/Vic Country

There aren't too many players as tough as Clark. The Dandenong Stingray's courage can sometimes go unnoticed, because he has a relaxed nature, but Clark is prepared to put his body on the line in the best interests of his team. After playing as a half-back in recent seasons, Clark has spent more time through the midfield this season and shown he can win the ball and get it going his side's way. Clark can kick on both feet and is also a fierce tackler.

With one of the best footy names among this year’s draft class, Hunter Clark’s first-round prospects gathered further momentum on the weekend.

Clark was one of the AFL Academy’s best players in its loss to the Northern Blues at Etihad Stadium, finishing with 15 disposals and four marks.

Throughout the night, Clark’s biggest strengths were on display: His rebounding as well as his ability to read the play. Of Clark’s 15 disposals, eight of them were intercepts, while three of his four marks were taken off opposition kicks.

Clark is arguably one of the most skilled players of this year’s draft pool, as he can effortlessly switch on to either foot and distribute the ball efficiently.

When you watch Clark play, he reminds you somewhat of Brodie Smith. He’s an attacking defender that isn’t afraid to take on his opponents, while he also has the tank and footy nous to push into an on-ball or wing role if required.

JJ isn't tough or hard at it, isn't that great a kick or a tackler and would cost us our first round pick plus some more.

I have tracked this kid for two years now and he is definitely one to watch in the final phase of the TAC cup year and then the All Stars Game , he may well be a bolter.

As I have posted a few times before on here he is one of my favourites in this years cohort, I will own that.

Tough as teak.
Amazing skills below his knees.
Is dual sided by foot or hand.
Has pace.
Loves a contest.

The only knock is he just needs to tidy up his natural right foot disposal.... his left is as good as his right and for the non dominant its very good.

Other than that he plays three positions HF MID and HB.
Great mark for his size.
For me he has a high ceiling and.......... thats always a tantalising prospect.

Probably not the right place to ask this, but has anyone been tracking how Alec Waterman is going? Is he playing any footy at all or planning on re-joining Claremont?

Sounds just like Jackson nelson

Looking at our future forwards post kennedy

Talls - Darling (191cm) , mcgovern (195), lamb (193) , Allen (193)

small/medium- cripps Karpany waterman rioli venables

I think we need another tall and another small especially since Gov is such a good defender and Karps , venables will hopefully be playing midfield roles

Mid / forwards is what is needed. A bit bigger bodied and with grunt / mongrel in them.

Hence the Hunter Clark type player interest.

I don't think we are super desperate for another tall forward just yet. Vardy is 26, Waterman 19 and McGovern is 25. McInness continues to improve as well and is a forward not a ruck.

A ruck / forward project player with a later pick.

9 players listed that will make up the future of our forward line.

6 of them have played about 5 games combined, hopefully they start getting a run soon so we can plan for our future.

Just something i was thinking of there is still a lot of trade talk about Jake Lever. If he was to go Schofield or Emac could be very tempting as part of the trade for Gov Jnr.

These same defenders Emac or Schoey could be very tempting to WB as a trade for JJ as well ,if WCE wanted to keep the 1st rd pick as they lack solid experienced tall defenders ..

Are you able to sign and trade
Players like in NBA ?

Because that would be handy for e Mac

In Emacs case he's a restricted free agent so technically we could trade him like Adelaide did for Dangerfield. Would only happen if whoever it was really wanted him and we told them we would match their offer if they didn't trade for him.
