Is it our inside work that is hurting us not Gaff. He has proven many of times how damaging he can be ( Look at last weeks game for instance). Loose Gaff and we go backwards BIG time. We need Mitchell ( and Priddis) to hang up the boots so he can teach the mids how to set up properly. Sheed had an awesome month in the middle as Priddis was either out or playing on the HFF so Sheed got to show his wares but last week he was barely in the middle...

We need to identify a big midfield brute who was thirst for the contested ball and breakaway speed.

This is why i am praying daniel venables produces something because watching sam powell pepper run around each week is making me sadder by the second

Overlooking Liam Ryan for a rookie spot is frankly unfathomable. On par with Lamb over Gov Jnr. Our talent scouts need to have some serious questions raised over their performance. If a pack of bums like us can see the value in these players (and be mostly vindicated, often) then you wonder how these 'professionals' land and keep their jobs.

But nah, Gerrick Weedon and Gorter are rad.

You have to wonder why the "professionals" at all 18 clubs overlooked Ryan. Either they're all incompetent or they all see/know something.

Hopper from GWS is an inside bull who can't get a go because of ward sheil coniglio Kelly

Geelong and Carlton are both into Hopper. Reckon it'd be tough to get him over here.

Wonder if we'd be tempted to look at Rockliff. He's a restricted free agent but the word out of Brisbane is they'd be willing to let him go under the assumption they'll get a good compensation pick. I'm not super keen on the fact he's already 27 but he would fit the mould as a contested bull

Rockcliff, contested bull ? I have to give up, I obviously know nothing about football anymore.

If Hopper was to leave for opportunity Geelong would be the last place he should go .Dangerwood have the inside mid spots locked up already

Anyone have any thoughts on the the following

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-07-11/worth-a-look-wafl-stars-pushing-their-draft-case

I take it Liam Ryan is going to do a Jetta, someone we could have put onto the rookie list for nothing, but now we'll need to shell out a decent pick if he's not picked up by someone else first. Glad we don't have a glaring hole at small forward that we could have used him for....
I get where you are coming from, but 10.1 is deplorable for a wannabe afl player. I'm not even fit but I could run that.

If he's a good footy player running a 10.1 beep, imagine how good he'll be after training every day in a proffesional environment

thats fine, but questions need to be asked how someone playing state league football and trying to get drafted can only run 10.1.
its a pathetic score.

he might be the next lewis jetta. he also might be the next dayle garlett.

btw im not against drafting him, just saying...

Beep tests measure a very specific type of aerobic fitness and honestly are a pretty shit indicator for much of anything. You can turn a 10.1 into an 11.1 simply by adjusting your turning technique or pacing, I hate how people point to as any real indicator if someone is AFL capable.

Was Ryan's 1st year at WAFL level after coming from country footy ,no doubt he's probably improved from last year with a preseason under his belt ..

In saying that fitness wise his talent to kick goals and pull down marks hid his small tank ..
