Darling is expendable and Waterman could come in next year in his role.

Gaff also holds some currency and could upgrade our first or get us a second first rounder.

Gaff plus our first and 3rd pick to GWS for Kelly
McKenzie to Freo for a 2nd/3rd round pick - could throw that in to one of the above trades if needed

I think a few are over valuing Darling and Gaff -the reason we want to trade them is that they are very limited and no good againts quality pressure. Who would pay big for them

Vardy is contracted and he will definitely be at the club next year. Giles unfortunately is contracted too so the club would need to negotiate with him for a release. McKenzie has been good the last couple of weeks, would not mind him staying on for one or two more seasons on significantly reduced terms. He certainly wouldn't get us a second rounder in return. Agree with Ryan, although he'll probably go in the ND. Should have rookie listed him last season. In regards to everything else, no chance Kelly is coming here and we don't need Mitch McGovern IMO.

I concede we'd be pushing uphill to snare Josh Kelly, but you never know...
regarding Mitch McGov my thinking is that he has a similar role to Darling, so yes, whilst we have Darling we don't need him.
But, if Mitch goes to Freo there is a chance Jeremy will follow, and that would just suck!
If we draft Mitch, we will certainly keep Jeremy and both will be Eagles players until they retire.
So do a straight switch, Jack for Mitch. Don Pyke knows Jack and what he is capable of, so he might see it as a win for both clubs.

I don't rate junior McG hugely but he would be a big improvement on darling who doesn't run, can not mark and fumbles below the knees. Like hill he was killed off in the GF

Does anyone know what kind of Dollar Darling is on? Surely it wouldn't be huge overs? Can't wait until Wellingham and McKenzie are off their current high paying contracts at the end of the season.

Josh Kelly would be a great get but, let's face it, he'd probably spend most of the year at East Perth addressing deficiencies in the defensive side of his game (as perceived by the Match Committee).

Meh, the club won't willingly trade Darling and Gaff, they rate them too highly and don't have a tendency of shopping players around. It's kind of tiring seeing speculative trades involving them that will never happen.

If Gaff nominates to go home then by all means let's get what we can, but it won't be Kelly, probably just picks from a Vic club like Essendon.
