The money isnt the issue. Its would he come west? I think we would easily satisfy the trade demands. Pick 9 plus a player. Gaff, Barrass, Darling. What do they need? Next years first?
They have good KPD stock in tomlinson, davis and morr. PLub TB is one player i want us to stay.
Darling would interest them as a third tall.
Gaff also would interest them and a replacement for Kelly.
Splooge

It's funny how quickly he's come into the public's attention this year.

In JLT1 this year he led a group of teenagers against our midfield and we got absolutely smashed.

I drafted him into my SuperCoach side a few weeks later because it was clear he was on the verge of domination.
It would be a dream to land him. That said for him really kill it we still need to build our midfield around him. He's a gun but IMO the fact that he has shiels, cogs and ward as the better contested mids really helped him last few years.

Yeah no doubt. It's hard to imagine he would be as effective in most other clubs. Maybe sydney.

It would basically consign Shuey to be a pure inside mid which I don't think suits him.

Kelly at 1.3 is way too much imo unless we could front load the contract. Even then I have reservations on spending so much of the cap on one player. Let's be honest, we need 2-3x Kelly to contend and that can't happen if we pay one player so much. Either way I can't see why the kid would move over here when he could just go to a Vic team.

So Freo's pick 5 then Monocle?

Quite possibly swannies yet I get this nagging thought that ......... they cant resist and take D Fogarty....... Fyfe mark 2...................... or mark 9.

God bless the Violet Crumbles.

They should take Brander..... but they wont.

Not neccassarily. If Redden can continue his late season form at a consistent level, then he'd be shoulder much of the burden. Plus i though Shuey's best year was last year and he was our best contested player and he was bulldozing around stoppages.

At the end of the day its about how our coaches structure our midfield and if we get it right, all three of shuey, kelly and sheed could play as inside/outside mids and we'd still be a very strong contested side.

As if Kelly would even contemplate coming here

Just can't see it no matter how much I want too
Dads from WA and played for EP. Lets just hope Dad is an Eagles fan and he grew up a mad eagles fan.

Said it about 50 pages back. Gaff for Acres plus Saints first. Two firsts for Kelly (maybe a second back)

We'll have the cash easily with the retirements and Gaffs salary gone.

Yeah nah. How about we keep Acres and use two firsts for Kelly?

Acres and our first does not equal Gaff. Nice try though.

No I haven't watched any of the kids this year to be honest.

You need to as it will answer a lot of your concerns about Clark.

To me it indicates they aren't quick decision makers, and they aren't confident in their ability to work their way out of traffic.

.

After you watch Clark ( And PLEASE tell me you are going to make the effort to youtube Hunter Clark AFL ...aren't you now... ) then you won't have any concerns about his ability to work his way out of traffic..... and there is nothing wrong with his decision making...very quick hand both left and right.... you need to get creative with your imagination, just imagine how effective Priddis could have been if he had a burst of speed away from the contest and got some separation.

Now that could be completely off the mark when it comes to Clark, and it likely is given I haven't seen him. BINGO
But we should be looking for a player who thrives, not struggles, under physical pressure.

If you had watched Clark play , you would already know that he thrives under physical pressure.
He is one tough never say die hombre .

All depends who has the most cash and where he chooses. I have no idea of the Saints situation but at an educated guess I reckon we would have a fair bit of space. Plus (and most importantly) this is a WC trade thread so let us dream in peace

3-way
Saints get: Gaff, Giants 2nd rounder, lose Acres and pick 9 (or whatever it ends up)
Giants get: 9&10, lose Kelly and 2nd rounder
WC get Kelly and Acres, lose Gaff and 10.

1.3 is what we are currently paying Emac plus Wellingham plus Le cras. And likely have $200k change after that.

Likelihood is O'Brien has interviewed his school teacher. Hunter was not always a nice boy and refused to comply with hair regulations so is an Eagles pass.

Tough, bigger mid with some speed who can use the ball.

Thats what interests me with Clark, something we really lack.

Same with Bradshaw but not as big. You don't think Bradshaw could play as a high half forward? He seems to be very good kicking the ball inside 50 and sneak a goal now and again. Start off as a defensive half forward as he builds his tank?

Maybe and I do get your point.
I don't think his tank is that bad.
Look he is a quality Mid and at the end of the day thats what we are short of.
So I would not be unhappy with selecting him, as I have said before he is very much the O'Brien "type".

Tomlinson wore jack like a glove and the guy who doubled team JK was there best defender in Davis. GWS are lucky they have three decent talls or else JK would have dominated once again.

To be fair to jk he still kicked 4.1 in a team that only totalled 60 points. He got 25 of them.

Yeah he did. Leon Cameron was smart and by shutting Darling it a worked in their favour.
1. It stopped Jack From freeing space and allowing JK get into open space.
2. It it also meant JD (who is in reasonable form) wouldn't get off the leash if they shut JK. Cameron knew these two boys are only real threats up forward.
