We should offer Daniel Menzel a 2-3 year deal. He has done better (36 goals at 2.3 goals per game) than all our forwards bar Kennedy. Won't cost us anything in terms of draft picks.
this was a topic on SEN yesterday, apparently he's rated as the worst forward in terms of pressure in the entire league.

not good.

Doesn't provide any defensive pressure. According to Champion Data Menzel is the worst pressure player amongst general Forwards in the competition. This might be due to his knee(s) and confidence in his body, but we don;t need someone who won't chase, tackle, harass, pressure in our forward 50.
Apologies to those that posted earlier confirming the SEN conversation on Menzel

Wonder if they know something we don't about his injuries. It's weird that they would stick by him for so many years, he finally gets back to playing some decent and fairly consistent football and then they don't even offer him a contract. Something not right here.

Arent the Cats chasing Devon Smith from GWS and potetially Ablett?

Both play Menzells role as does Cockatoo and Parfitt.

Daniel Menzel can only run in straight lines. His sideways movement is non-existant due to those knees. Its why Eric Mackenzie could clean him up when we played them. EMac is fast in straight lines and could outmark him. That will be his kryptonite from here on out.

On Karpany's development I like his inside work. I think he does his best work in traffic. Like Mitchell has a killer sidestep and would like him involved in a heavier workload to see if he can handle it.

Ah fair enough so another Lecra? Talented but pressure is suss.
In fairness lecras was ok defensively till he broke his arm twice - never been the same since.

When we were running a forward press he was a big part of that

How's Jono Marsh tracking, I like the cut of his jib?

D_P_S updated his top 40 2 days ago.

He currently has us getting Constable at 10 (but Clark, Coffield and O'Brien go 11-13), then he has us getting Worpel at 27.

It's pretty wild but he has Jack Higgins going at 21 to Geelong.
What sort of credibility does this poster have? Happy to hear about posters with credibility but who is DPS!

I think Monocle got it right when he wrote up :

"Constable: He is a bit of an enigma in so much as he doesn't have a lot of pace and yet he just manages to find the football in close and then has this uncanny knack of getting to where the ball is going to be next. Very good foot skills and reads the play brilliantly. He is a pretty polished player. At this point in time I want to see more of how he closes the season out as with Sandringham, as he will play finals for sure. I don't mind this kids skill set just his lack of pace worries me."

I personally would prefer Hunter Clark, Lochie O'Brien, Andrew Brayshaw or Jack Higgins ahead of Constable who according to the DPS list were later picks. Glad the club has come out publicly and stated we need to prioritise our midfield in the draft

Best available maybe or Jack Higgins / Aaron Naughton sound like likely prospects and more known quantities they possess .

Not following it much but they sound like two solid options .

When did the club say this?

Simmo on Fox this week:

“We do have some players there that we think can give us some growth, someone like an Elliot Yeo getting through the midfield or Liam Duggan, who are both playing back,” he said.

“I think we can get some kids through there in the future.

“But no doubt we’re going to have to draft and look through the trade period and free agency to try and get the best out there.”

What did the club say this?

Is it just me or does it seem like
Karpany and mutimer are pretty average footballers and won't cut it??
Or have we not seen enough of them to make a call?

Karpany i'm a bit concerned about, has been on the list for 4 years now, should be showing more.

Mutimer has done enough to deserve another year IMO.
